I did a reading for my partner last week. I did a Keltic cross/7 sisters hybrid (19 cards), along with a past present future (9 cards each) for work and for love. That is a total of 37 cards used in the reading and NOT ONE wand appeared!! Plenty of swords though, which I was expecting, due to his agitation, worry and lots of things going on.

Does the lack of wands mean he isn't bothered about work, do you think? Or could it mean nothing much is going on in his work life or there are no work-related changes coming up? Michael, my partner, is highly qualified, speaks 7 languages and is skilled in several types of job. If he loses a job or decides to leave, "a job is just a job" to him - a way of making money and doing something he loves.

In the love section there were plenty of cups, the lovers & lots of "good" cards (which was very accurate) but the work area was full of things to do with his life but in a non-work related way. As though the tarot cards were telling us things (which did actually make sense) but did not want to focus on work at all.

I know the odds of not one wand appearing in a 37 card spread are quite unlikely (since that is nearly half a deck and I shuffled the Keltic cross/7 sisters cards before laying down the next 18) so I was surprised.  

Any thoughts?

I think I know where you are coming from, some books depict wands as work related. I tend to look at them as more of a fire symbol, with no wands in a reading then there is no cause for alarm and everything is on the whole running smoothly with no firey upsets?

Does seem amazing that none appeared though lol, so I would take it as a good sign.

I really like it. Do you know the Keltic Cross/7 Sisters Hybrid? For anyone that doesn't you lay out the Keltic Cross then place an extra card at the 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th positions then another extra card there. So you get more insight into various areas. You can do 7 sisters (3 cards each) for every position on the Keltic Cross spread but I find that unnecessary most of the time. I love trying new spreads too!

I think I call that the Advanced Celtic Cross spread? Its one that Wilma Carroll has in her book?
