Can Tarot be wrong?

Hi - I hope you are all well.

If I understand it correctly the Tarot should tell us the truth; the Tarot is always factual. In that case, can anyone explain to me why Tarot is so often wrong. By 'wrong' I mean that I have so often over the past few years been told that this or that is about to happen to me, and then nothing like that happens. For example I was told that I should not make any plans (of any kind) before April 20. I didn't understand why I shouldn't make any plans, not that I  planned to make any plans. I eagerly waited for April 20 to come so that I could have clarification. It came and ... it was a day like any other. In fact, my life is still exactly as it was when I was warned about that date.

No, a question that leads from the above. Can we live our lives by the Tarot?

Thanks in advance for anyone who will answer this post.
Have a nice day ... or evening ... whatever.

Perhaps, that is your blessing.  Could it be that it wasn't wrong?  Due to the fact you know nothing of what was to happen, then the fact it was thwarted would leave you with no knowledge of the situation at all, would it not?  The tarot, in my view, is not a factual, scientific realm; it's more of a guide.  It keeps you in tune with your spiritual self, better enabling you to handle life's difficulties and experience it's wonders.  It has more to do with faith and using your own guides through the use of the cards.

Tarot is factual. A card is interpreted by its meaning and where it lies, the position with regards to the overall spread and those cards near as well as the overall lay and spread of the cards. So......Tarot isn't 'wrong' but perhaps it might be more accurate to say that the interpretation could be?

As I so often say..... Just by receiving a reading our lives can change! By telling you don't make any plans before April 20, you didn't and wouldn't have even if the opportunity had arisen? Thats quite a precise date, I wonder who and how they actually got that information from the cards.....

Depends what you mean by that question? Many people get addicted to having readings and allowing others to make their decisions by tarot for them.

Tarot is best used as a tool of empowerment. NOT prediction. Too often the ego and confidence of the reader, and the will and ego of the querrent will affect the reading and link together to give a reading that is wanted but biased. The ethics of tarot reading are all too often overlooked and that is probably where the cause of your unrest lies. How good was the reader you went to? What questions did you ask, any clarification? Who first mentioned the 20th April? Instead of telling you what to do, or not to do, the best kind of reader will offer you insight and clarification as well as guidance and the chance to explore the different paths you could take, thus empowering you to make informed decisions rather than dictating what might happen.

Dear Btrfly0905

You know, you are right. Having been given that date, I did heed the advice by not making any plans. Therefore, had I not known of that date, I mgiht well have taken some disasterous decision.  Thanks you for pointing this out to me.

Best wishes

Dear Gem
Thanks for your reply. The reader was someone I had just 'walked in on'. He was working from an esoteric shop in London.  I don't know how he came to that date of April 20. He just came out with it. I didn't feel that I could question him. But now that I've had your reply and that of Btrfly0905, I can see that having received the warning and not having made any plans or decisions about my life, I did in fact pay attention to what he had said. I had probably therefore prevented whatever there was that was 'in the cards' for me, so to speak. I will certainly pay more attention when I have a Tarot reading in future.
Thanks for your help. You're wonderful as usual.
