Do you know I have never had 4 3's or 4 anything turn up in a spread yet!!!!  So I am reluctant to pass on the meanings that I was told without having any experience of them actually working?  But....if you look at our tarot class here you will see what we all got

George,   There is the Major Arcana of 22 cards, and the Minor Arcana of 56 cards, the minors are made up of the Court cards, 4 for each suit and the pips, 10 for each suit ( Ace to 10)  Some call the Court cards pips too, but that I find a bit disrespectful?

I was just wonder while the minors with be called "pips" . i looked up the word and it said, one of the dots used on dice and dominoes to indicate numerical value.   I would guess because each card of the minors save the court cards have numerical values and sympols to indcate a value of the card.  ex: 6 pentacles like 6 dots on a die.   intresting!

also, now that i think of it the Majors have numerical meanings add to them but to dinguish you wouldn't necessary want to call them pips plus because they do not have the symbols of there numerical value on them.

yes, i see what you mean!

will do about Tarot of Marseilles!  sounds like fun!

Thanks for your help with the 3's meaning, I will have to have a think about it all.  Anymore suggestions would be good, the bad thing is I can't even remember where they all were in the layout.
Another question you might be able to answer is when you are doing a past, present, future reading, how do you figure out the time span in which it is talking about.

Cheers

for a simple spread like a 3 card spread i've always went by the question asked and how i felt at the time.  i have  felt it might happen in the next week or month where as one reading it felts like months.
i read that the Celtic Cross is for a six month reading!

Spreads need to be worked out before hand, thats why spreads like the Celtic Cross are so well known. When you make up a layout, use pen and paper and write down all the positions and the time frame. You have to decide before you do the spread what the designations of the layout mean, and stand for, then after shuffling the cards will fall right and can be interpreted correctly. So decide the time frame before you ask and shuffle and cut and spread. This we will cover in more detail later on in the learn tarot course

It depends on if all 4 threes were in the same position meaning reversals or natural positions.  You have to go buy how many of each you have of the reversals and how many in the natural positions.

4 threes in natural position means progress
3 threes means unity
2 means calm

4 threes in reversals mean great success
3 threes mean serenity
2 threes nean safety

All is good from what it all means.

Four 3's in a spread, what does it mean?
