My husband (to be) and I have been studying and working with Oracle cards for a bit now....He focusses mainly on the Angel Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue and I mainly focus on the Sacred Path Cards by Jamie Sams, and we share our messages and learnings with one another.

I really love the Native American way of teaching and these cards are really beautiful. The Angel Oracle has some gorgeous imagery and the messages of both decks have been dead on everytime.

I have always been drawn to the whole idea of Angels and guardians, though until now my study in that area has been limited. Interestingly enough, Jon bought his deck on a whim without even knowing I had two Doreen Virtue books on my bookcase from years back....one of which is 'Healing With the Angels' (which is the other deck he wants to get).  It's a really good read for those of you who are not familiar with her work --you can also visit her site angeltherapy.com.  

Anyway, tonight we visited her site and was reading some of her articles. I wanted to share an excerpt with you all from there containing an exercise that I plan to give a try along with Jon.


"If you feel blocked in any area of your life, write this message on a piece of paper and place it under your pillow. Repeat the phrase mentally three times as you are falling asleep: "Dearest Angels, I ask you to work with me in my sleep tonight, to clear away any blocks which keep me from fully enjoying my life. Please either call these blocks to my attention, or completely remove them from my mind, emotions, and body during tonight's sleep. Thank you."

In the morning, you'll awaken refreshed but with an awareness that you've worked during the night.

You may not recall the details of your angelic nocturnal work, but you will feel it deeply. Your head may even feel funny, because of the restructuring which occurred overnight. Still, any blocks which the angels carted away were heavy weights impeding you from your life's plan and purpose. You'll feel grateful that you asked for this clearing, and you may want to invite the angels into your dreams nightly." -D.Virtue

I love those decks, especially the Sacred Path  Have you ever tried using them in a reading with Jamie Sams Medicine Cards? They really complement each other with the NA theme.

What other oracle cards do you use? I love my crystal oracles.

Well, I have the Celtic Oracle but have not really studied them. One of these days I suppose, but I'm also looking into perhaps getting the Animal Wise Tarot....again with the NA theme that I am really drawn to.

I'm really rather new to everyday practice with Tarot and Oracle cards, though many times in my past studies I have utilised them for various other practices such as the tarot contemplation to complement meditation and magickal usage.

I saw the Crystal Oracle while browsing online the other day. Those are beautiful! I thought of a friend of mine when I saw them since she is quite knowledgeable about crystals and stones. It's something else that has intrigued Jon and I but we have not delved too deeply into that subject thus far in our mutual studies. There's still just so much out there to choose for focus in metaphysical learnings that one cannot help but be drawn in many directions! Ya know? lol

Oh yes, I understand being pulled in different directions, lol, so little time, so much to do and learn lol.

My crystal oracle collection is growing all the time, whenever I find a new oracle I have to investigate, heehee, I find that the best one I have got is a true crystal one, 77 small crystals that roll and tumble freely and give me insight to the reading. Sometimes I use the card ones too, but many seem to depict the designers idea of crystals and their meanings and some aren't very user-friendly, too large for small and arthritic hands, and not very slippery being printed on poor quality card.  For that you can't beat Doreen Virtue's Goddess Oracle Cards, gold edges and a slick feel

Have you investigated the Visions Quest tarot? Very pretty and colourful and the cards don't offend true natives like some of the other NA decks do.
