I'm fairly new to tarot and was wondering if anyone could give me some helpful tips. So far only a few of the readings I've done for myself have been accurate, and none of the readings I've done for others have been accurate. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Also, I was wondering if there's anything I should know when it comes to taking care of my deck. I've asked a few people before, and they've all told me something different, so I'm not quite sure what to do.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Necesse,

As for taking care of your deck, do what feels right for you. Some people cover them with a black cloth to protect from negative energies. I like mine best kept in their own boxes.

I think your readings are probably less accurate for your friends because you probably don't feel confident with what you say. I keep a journal and do a 1 card reading everyday to help me get in tune with each card. Whatever you decide the card means is what it means for you. For example, if I think the King of Pentacles means real estate and moving, then when it comes up in a reading I'm doing, then that's what it is talking about. Decide what each card means and stick with your decision, but don't forget to listen to your guide's voice, a small whisper, that might be giving you more information. trust this voice. Remeber that tarot is about intuition, so look at the pictures, see what they are trying to tell you, and listen to your inner voice.

TO get a more accurate reading the classes will help you get there!  overall trust yourself and be forgiving of youserlf and know that everyone makes mistakes and even if not a mistake but because of positive and negative energys around us that could cause a bad readings.

AS for taking care of your deck you will get several answers and then several more about how to take care of your cards, remove negativtiy, make them your own etc etc etc  Do what makes you feel comfortable and makes those cards feel like yours.  take bits and peices from everyone your hear from and try things and so forth until you found what feels right for you.  there really and i mean really no wrong way to take care of your cards.
good luck and hope to see in you class if that is the path you wish too take!

I agree with George. Gem's classes are great! I have been reading tarot for years, but I still am learning new things.
