So then there are differing opinions on what is reversed and what isn't...

I read for years, for myself and friends, and took several classes in Tarot reading. Look at my age... you could find a lot of classes back in the day... and there were always divided opinions about reverses. Some said they put a fine point on the reading and some, like myself, think the reverse meanings are already covered by other cards. It was too much to hold in my brain anyway.

I use reversals, but rather than focusing on the negative, as some people see a reversal, I try to focus on what might be unbalanced in (my) life, and look to the card itself for advice on how to turn it right.

I don't like using the reversed cards either.  I agree that the cards provide enough information upright.  However, every now and then even though I keep all my cards facing the same way when I shuffle them, I will sometimes get an unexpected reversed card.  When that happens, I assume it was meant to be.

I haven't fully mastered the tarot cards yet, but I am learning and I've noticed that when a card is reversed, that I should read it in its full content and meaning.  I say this because to me, there has to be "palarity" in everything. If there is an up, then there must be a down. If the cards represent positive aspects, then the cards must represent negative aspects.  I feel that all vibrations from the cards should be looked at in all their intended dimensions.  If the cards come up reversed, then the person to whom the reading is geared towards must know that there is a negative influence in or around them and that it must be addressed and considered with the other cards of the reading.  I've found that in life there will always be positives and negatives and if we get all positives all the time, then something is not right.  There should be a balance of forces and knowing that a negative card came up just keeps us on our toes and let's us know that life is not perfect and that we all have things that need to be worked on...I welcome reveresed cards in my readings...it helps me adjust to life with a positive and optimistic outlook....
