Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:
“All mental weakness is due to the mind's ignorance of its own essential nature which is universal and the source of infinite energy and intelligence. This ignorance is the basis of all suffering and shortcomings in life. In order to root out the ignorance, it is necessary to be brought to knowledge. In order to bring anyone to knowledge, the first requirement is to bring the person into a state of receptivity. Krishna's first words to Arjuna have the purpose of shaking him out of his paralysis so that he may be capable of understanding."
