Religion is the acceptance of god.
Spirituality is the beginning of the journey to god.

Andy:  Unfortunately there are just too many religions and religious experiences to simplify like that.  Religion may be the meeting of those in acceptance of God.  Spirituality is found within each of us and is the journey of life to acceptance of God.

In modern times religion and spirituality have come closer -- very close I would think.

For a long time religion was the best way as it was organized and lay down certain norms and tracks which worked perfectly given the times and the level of development of those that followed those.

As we grow and evolve, those who would -- embraced the concept of spirituality and moved away on to a more suitable path.


As the world must, so should we evolve too!

after reading ur above converastions regarding spirituality, i would like to conclude by saying  in one word,

"LOVE IS GOD ,       and God is love "


this we tamilians say in our mother tounge "anbe sivam"       anbu means love ,sivam means symbol of god  u may take it  as lord siva



  To rrji   .... as u speak always quoting movies i too just want to suggest one thing , if u can , please see the movie , Tamil movie Anbe sivam by great actor kamal hasan , the movie focuses on the topic LOve is god, and it is pictuarised mostly in Bengal and the movie runs in eastern indian states like orissa assam west bengal , i am sure u can enjoy the movie becuase u find more bangali dialouges in that.

 Love is the only thing which can travel without any barriers like religion , caste , nationality etc etc. True love is the symbol of mankind and which seperates man from animal

religion is man made, and we all know "man is a social animal"  he cannot live in isolation, he needs support of others., when he was over burdened he invented religions inorder to safe guard his own personal interests then who ever followed the same path came under one religion , from there started more and more religions .


the word religion deals with the outward conections among people and the word spirituality speaks of inner aspects or deals with self , which again takes one to GOD

And who loves his fellow human being is said to be God .   , so i can say spiritalk ji is more clear and cent percent correct in defining the word religion and spirituality

  thus spirituallity acts as bridge between man and God tho religion.

I do believe in a God, but I believe that we each have our spirit which gives us godly powers so we can play a part in our own fate. Faith in oneself or faith in a God; either is fine. But faith is what works.
