Hi Everyone,

I am new to this board, but was quite taken with this thread. I too have dealt with the closed minded and intolerant. I follow the path of a Pictish Druid, thus I worship no gods nor goddesses. My reverence is for the spirit of all things and our Mother Earth (Gaia). Because of this I have been branded atheist, anarchist, damned to hell, etc. lol
Through all this I have been blessed to have a small core of loving faithful friends. They are from many different walks of life, many nationalities, and dramatically different faiths. However, they are those with minds open to differences. They are all I require. I am always open to making new friends, in fact, I truly enjoy it.
So, don't let the narrow minds and vitriolic attitudes of zealots trouble you. If they cannot accept you and your beliefs, they are not worth YOUR friendship.

We are talking about loving one another aren't we? Really, that's what it gets down to! We talk about the Spirit and all paths that lead to God. You know, were all on one planet. Oneness. Yet, in our love, we divide and polarise. The very thing that is being condemned here, is being played out here. Not everyone. There are more than just religious differences. We are all aware of that. They separate us. Some qualities in another attract us and some qualities repel us. We are (most) still in the trade and barter system that says-----I love you if????????? There only seems to me, to be one solution and that solution is this, you work on yourself and I'll work on myself and in that way we help each other. By the way, I dont know what each of us has to go through in this life but go through it we will and what we go through, as far as I'm concerned, is the best thing for us. LOL

I was reading someone's assignment essay today. It was about the comparison of two parallel lives, immersed in greed and ambition, taken from old and contemporary literature. It was a beautiful essay and concluded:

When you begin to want more than what you actually need, while attainable, you begin to pay for these additional acquisitions from your account named: LOVE. The 'interest' that you accrue from this soul bank account is named: Happiness!

Brilliant! Too bad I am not the teacher who will mark this essay!
