I've been thinking about painting some glass beads or the like to make my own runes.

I have been considering making some runes out of clay and making a old fashioned fire Kilm, as fire is great for purification and will dry the clay so it won't be brittle. But have to put that on hold as I have a very curious 16 month old boy and another bubbie on the way and I don't have any place I could put a fire Kilm. Clay is so easy to work with I remember in High School I loved working with clay, must be the earth element that makes you feel great. Although I am fire, earth is still one of my favourites.

Hmmm, a kiln, huh? Sounds hot. But fun. I could never mold clay well, my pots always came out lumpy and stuff. But clay runes sound fun. My kid molds clay you can dry out in the oven (called Daz Clay, or something like that); a moulding knife and clay, heck, even I could do that! Probably better than painting glass and more earthy, too. Great idea!
