All the optimism and hope of the upright card seems to be lost in its reversed position, the balance achieved has been distorted and there is a disharmony between the physical and emotional self.
This card in its reversed position indicates that you may have lost your initial inspiration or vision of your goal. Instead of feeling comfortable with yourself you are filled with self doubt and an innate sense of lack of trust. Things no longer look bright and you replace optimism with pessimism. You do not trust in yourself anymore and cannot see the worth in your talents, you are no longer a Star!
The message this card may just be delivering in this position is that because of your shortsightedness you lose your clarity of vision, and your inner calm.
It may also be saying to you that you are trying to reach or have the unobtainable by setting up standards and levels that cannot possibly be reached.
If your physical and emotional self is out of balance so is the spiritual side of you and so if the upright card suggests here that you aspire to a higher spiritual understanding, the reversed shows that you have closed off that avenue for the time being.
Reversed this card shows up the insecurity one is feeling and how fears are allowed to take over, one could mask this by appearing arrogant and fooling yourself with self deceit.
Ill dignified The Star is not a happy card.
