So many people have posted here asking "is this a past life?"  So I though I would start a thread that shares how I try and perceive the difference

Past life memories are usually very vivid, you have all senses working, the memory sticks in your mind like it was yesterday. It is not vague but an instant bright shiny picture. Sometimes we can actually smell fragrances from the past life, great if you happen to be baking a cake or walking amidst flowers, not so good for those that are reliving old times in poverty and dirt.

Sometimes we know places and if we happen to visit them now we just instantly know where we are and where to go.

Sometimes we can remember crafts and how to speak other languages or play instruments we have never picked up in our current life.

Sometimes we might pick up pain or scratches or actually have dust on us from revisiting.

I suppose it all really depends on what and how much you believe, but imho some things cannot be explained any other way

According to my experiences:

I think the most difficult thing about recalling past lives
is believing it is not imaginings or fantasy.  
These memories don't come like a movie,  but rather fragmented...
in bits...and out of order.

I have a past life that keeps coming back to me... and is revealed slowly,
somewhat like my own personal soap opera. It has taken twenty years for me
to recall and process this particular life ... the memories always come, at the
time it would most help me.... in this life. Forcing this is impossible as well.

How do I know... this is a past life? I feel it  belongs to me...   the feelings
and emotions that accompany my 'time traveling'  are physically real,
not like I am watching someone else's movie.

I believe we have had many lives but I only I get snippets of information  that
tells me I have had many roles.  I am amused by these little bits, however I am
very grateful to have at least one complete life memory ... I understand how this
life is affected by my past life.  I am grateful not be making the same mistakes!

I find that quite often the life is re-lived in the first person through eyes that are our own as opposed to being a visitor or viewer that sees from a different angle, above or the side...

Many find that only a snippet of the life is re-visited or shown because that is all that is needed to heal that era and let the lesson be re-confirmed  or remembered? If we then choose to keep working on it and remember more then that is up to us?
