Hello. This is my first time ever on a forum so please excuse any mistakes   I was hoping someone could tell me what happened to me. Recently I did Reiki 1 and before our first attunement we did a visualisation meditation. Towards the end we had just finished visualising the crown chakra slowly opening and then were to imagine a white light from above and 'someone' coming down and presenting us with a gift-box  we were to open. I was having trouble, no-one seemed to be there and nor could I seem to 'imagine' anyone. I was just about to try and imagine a box to open feeling abit sad no-one had 'appeared' with a gift for me when the most wonderful thing happened. The most wonderful surge of energy poured into me from the top of my head and down my arms and torso [not my legs]. It felt absolutely beautiful.
It was also emotionaly overwhelming and I cried from joy.   My whole upper body was just surging with this beautiful energy. Was this my gift from my healing guide? I don't know. Is this common? I really hope someone can tell me what this was.

On Reiki I attunement people get all sorts of different feelings.
I, for one, like you, was so annoyed that I could not meet my Reiki guide and his/her gift. Although he came to me two nights later in my dream............
Yes, you have had a surge of energy and take it as you like - gift from your guide or however you see it.

Reiki I is quite an intense attunement and most of us were tearful towards the end of the first day. There were also tears when I got home that night.

No, you are not alone and it is a beautiful experience.

It worked. I'm a Reiki master myself. No two people I've seen give attunements do it the same way. The words don't mean anything by themselves. A good teacher will get the message across. It's important to be able to visualize, but it's hard to visualize something that not everyone can see or even understand.
I don't remember which movie this was, maybe "what the bleep". They offered the theory that Natives on islands invaded by old world explorers couldn't see the ships because the had never seen or understood what they were.
I don't teach, but my wife does and I often assist. People react in very different ways. Your safe.

That definately sounds like the gift itself, just cause it didn't come in a box as the visualization was leading your mind
to expect, sure doesn't mean it didin't come at all! Thats is a beautiful experience to have had. It sound as though maybe
your angels or guides where there helping you to recieve.
