Hi Vesta; found your post fascinating. Looks like you have had some kind of spontaneous attunement to Reiki - as experienced after 21 days on a mountaintop by Dr Usui himself. To think I had to spend 300 quid to get to Level 2 (chuckle - just joking! )
Wonder if anyone else has come across anything similar? Reiki works in so many wonderful ways!

You never considered getting attuned by a Master?

Wonderful discussions going on here! We should maybe create a new topic like something like Reiki Discussions and cut this thread. Up to the moderators.

When I spoke to my reiki master about the whole distance thing I think he said that it all had to do with the person’s belief. If they felt that it wouldn’t be legit doing it like that then it won’t be legit.
I am def one of those who has to be in the flesh.

But I totally don’t agree with that whole one weekend away and become a reiki master, that in my honest opinion is THE most ridiculous thing EVA!! I mean if you just remember after you were attuned to reiki 1, how you got those hot flushes? I mean I was like a walking hot water bottle! Image what your cells will be doing if you went all the way to master in 3 days! Hectic.
I’ve spoken to my reiki master about this about a year ago and he was saying that he had a lot of clients that went on those things and would come back in a total mess. He would have to try sort them out gently and slowly. It's meant to be an enjoyable experience, imagine what you gonna think of reiki after experiencing a total meltdown. Sheesh.

I was taught, reiki 1 then min 2 weeks before you can get reiki 2, after that a min of a year before you can get Master. I’ve stuck to it and I must say, I was quick from reiki 1 to reiki 2, but from reiki 2 to Master…so far its been a year and a half and I’m still working on myself before I will accept that responsibility. I just know there will be a day or a moment where I will just know. That the time is right and I have become that master. I really look forward to that day.

Oh wanted to ask you know when you’re giving a treatment to someone and they will twitch when you pass through a blockage or a build up? Do you guys ever get a twitch in your hands?
I seem to lately…it's almost like I am moving through their kinks myself. Don’t think I explained that too well, but yeah I’m a little concerned as it is not very professional in my opinion that my hands would be the ones that twitch. Also to note I’m a super sensitive empath so I feel exactly what they are going through. I then thought…maybe I have little areas of energy clusters/blockages in my hands and I’m kinda working through it??? I know that I generate one hell of a lot of energy…so I usually get the burning in my hands…so it could just be that….???
Any opinions will be welcomed.

Also have any of you guys ever have a client that checked you out energetically while you were giving a healing? like your hands are on and youre pumping energy i.e the energy is flowing true and strong and then all of a sudden you kinda feel them in your head, scratching around in a sense.
I was very alarmed when it happened and wasn’t sure if I should carry on with the treatment or bust this persons chops. (Take with a pinch of salt  ) I didn’t feel comfortable about it and that in my opinion is a clear indication that something is not all ‘good’. Well I decided to carry on with the healing trusting in reiki that if anything had to happen the reiki would step in and sort it out. So I relaxed and carried on. Afterwards I mentioned something to the guy and he said he was checking to see if I was adequate enough. Like if I was strong enough. I wanted to bash his head in for that! But what was more upsetting is that he was even able to do that. Aren’t there Universal rules of conduct when it comes to healing? Like you are automatically protected?
I don’t know...it still bothers me.

I have come across natural healers, they just have natural healing hands, I don't think its the exact same as reiki, I don’t know but feels a bit more earthly? Very Earth energy. Strong & solid. I mean it is a slight difference, veeerrryy slight, but there is a difference.
I think it's great! When you get surprised like that! I always have a soft and quiet chuckle at that. makes my heart smile.

Also something that I have noticed lately with myself, say I will be holding someones hand, and I will then all of a sudden feel my hands getting reiki’ed.
I’m so used to putting my hands on and feeling the energy go one way - and that is usually out - then all of a sudden you feel reiki coming in through your hands; almost feels like they are reiki'ing you with your own energy? Doesn’t feel ‘bad’ just a little odd???

Hi Rose Red, welcome to this discussion! Agree that 'Reiki Discussions' would be a great idea for a new thread. I usually find people cough and scratch as well as twitch - either getting rid of blockages or they just might need to cough. I often feel the hairs on the backs of my hands standing on end when encountering blockages - like a build-up of static. What impresses me is how still and focused my hands have become now - they used to be quite trembly before my Reiki days!
The sad thing about the conflict you experienced with that client are, yes, there are sceptics. Usually they're influenced by negative press and TV images about esoterica in general and don't bother to find out for themselves: 'flaky Reiki', Devil worship etc! A couple of my workmates think Reiki shares are just an excuse for a good orgy! Problem is that these people don't hesitate to go to a doctor and get filled full of pills which deal with the symptoms but never the Higher Self issues. My Master Mike speaks of someone who started a (paying) session with him by saying he didn't believe in Reiki at all and didn't know why he'd come! While he felt that he could have had some effect, after a short time Mike decided the battle would be too great and simply paid him back his money and said goodbye. What was the point of all that in the first place? What a waste! I do the Tarot (mainly for fun) and am surprised that there are still people around who think a pack of cards can be the gateway to eternal damnation!
Great to hear a young person like yourself is approaching Reiki Masterdom. You seem to be very enthusiastic and enjoying your experiences - that's the main thing. My wife is on that Path too but I'll stick with Level 2 for now as I still have impatience issues and non-Reiki thoughts, particularly when driving!
