That is interesting, as I tried to reiki once a noisy pipe under my floorboards. (in order to stop the noise). It is still noisy.

Can you tell me how do you go on reikiing non humans or appliances? I guess it is the same way and hand position(s)?
And how long do you do it for?

This is a very good idea and I'd like to start practising it.

Hmmm I think that I would like to learn more about reiki after reading these posts as I often blur my computer screen and I am afraid of crashing it... I have switched to the energy saver florescent bulbs and I haven't blown them which is a good thing cuz being short and changing bulbs sucks.... I do meditate often, (bout twice daily) but I still get emotional surges that apparently spark restless energies in me... Thank you all for sharing this though as it will help me to learn more.... and I am going out to get a hematite ring this weekend... Lets hope it helps me out too!!

I love working on animals and plants, and now obviously appliances!
I don't worry too much about hand positions.  I have a grounding/centering/protection thing I go thru as naturally as breathing and channeling healing has been a part of me since birth.  I followed a Reiki path because it showed me a way to invoke (so to speak) the energies and also to be more controlled.  
When working on animals, I'll touch if they allow, if not from a short distance.  (People I rarely touch during treatment).  Plants ditto.  No need to touch. Ditto appliances.  As far as hand positions, just kind of palms facing the object - animal, plant, my crystals, appliances.  On the appliances, car etc., I'm "seeing" thinking whatever it is, thoughts of supplemental energy.  I think, or see or whatever, the electrical conduits recieving a boost of energy and not needing to use as much electricity.  time spent:  after my inital shot at the appliances, its maybe 15-30 secs as I walk by or turn on the air cond.  I send during the time I pump gas into my car, and each time I turn it on to drive.
I'm not sure I'm making sense.

Does this healing to others, including healing with intent to people who and objects not near us at the presnt time, have anything to do whether we are attuned to level I or level II or even a Master?
I always include other people - with intent to send healing - while I am reikiing myself. I am only level I attuned and hoping to get to level II soon. (Been level I now for six months).

My question is: is the extent of my healing energy whichever level I have acquired any different - or same - than those who have been attuned to the higher levels?
