For someone that is only level one, you show an astounding natural understanding.   Many people do want the peace from illness that death can provide. Reiki can help to heal the emotions and prepare the soul for its journey. Many times a person is 'healed' with reiki but does not survive and live, instead they pass peacefully and safely without fear.

I agree.  I am also a first level practitioner.  I have noticed a huge difference in my daughter since treating her. wild Animals seem to  be unafraid of me and actually try to get close to me.  I am positive that it can help. I am also sure that seeing an MD in conjunction with reiki is benneficial.  If anyone has studied with a good teacher then they know that reike is no substitute for medicine but it is an excellent enhancement.

I am a Reiki Master and I believe that no one thing is the perfect healing art. Sometimes western medicine is what is needed, such as surgery and /or radiation to fight cancer.Other times something different is needed. I think we've all heard of cases where family was told to say their goodbyes to a family member.... then a miracle occurs. Sometimes thru hands on healing, sometimes thru prayer.  To claim that any one way of healing is the only method is a very narrow mindset.. in my opinion anyway, lol.

Reiki has changed my life since I have gotten my attunements. But it has not yet healed some of my chronic illnesses. I believe that reiki compliments many other types of healing. One of my clients was recieving chemo therapy for cancer. His body took a lot of reiki energy and he recovered. But he underwent intense chemo and then radiation. His whole body felt hot as I gave him reiki and I could feel the energy move through me into him like a river going over a waterfall. The healthier a person is recieving reiki, the less powerful the pull of the energy.

Any disease I face, I will do so with a combination of traditional medicine, homeopathic medicine and reiki. For the one that died of cancer, Reiki did heal and comfort. But death may have been his healing.

I reiki'd my grandmother as she lay dying, with no hope of recovery.  She passed after about 20 minutes of reiki, when she had been hanging on for weeks, completely brain dead. I believe her healing was death. When she passed, I felt her spirit release with joy and she immediately accended. Later, she came to me and told me that the reiki gave her comfort and made her passing easier. My grandmother was a devout Christian, and I never told her of my work with reiki while she was alive.

I received my first level attunements just over 3 weeks ago, but haven't had much experience other than self-treatments, and also to my 3yo son who had an operation last week (nothing serious, just had a grommet inserted in one ear).
But I know that reiki works because years ago my mother broke her leg. She had an operation and was having physiotherapy, but by the time she should have been walking again she was still in a lot of pain and her leg was swollen. Then she had 5 consecutive sessions of reiki. She says that she didn't feel anything during the first two, but during the third session she felt as if a 'knot' was dissolving, and the blood was flowing back wherever it had to go. Just a few days later she was walking again. Of course, she also continued with her physio.
