Reiki is divine healing energy or universal healing energy. We are just the channels to direct it or intend it to who has requested for it, Channels are human beings, per se, and like them they come in all forms of sensory receptions. I practice usually distance healing and like you on my conscious plane I do not get the sensations, yet when I receive an email from the requestee that he is feeling better or is cured of his malise, it strengthens the belief in the universal healing energy. As far as the time required to heal is concerned, well anything is possible. Even incredulous.
