Do we have any reiki practitioners or students or masters that practise other reiki modalities?

There are so many different branches of reiki nowadays that have sprung up all over the world not just in Japan where Usui lived, so I was wondering what kind of reiki you work with or are interested in?

I started with Usui Shiki Ryoho which I guess is pretty traditional. Keep tweaking it though so it's evolved into something very Carlos. I've also studied Seichim/SKHM which appears to be an Egyptian flavored, Sufi influenced form of reiki founded by Patrick Zeigler. His keyword is Allove which is as close as we're going to get as far as describing the energy. I've been using love poetry to invoke the energy with very nice results, all part of my tweaking as I can never leave well enough alone. I've studied with maybe ten or twelve people and IIRC they were all traditionalists except for Patrick and I believe even he started out as one having studied with Babara Weber Ray, one of Madame Takata's original 22 Reiki Masters called the Reiki Alliance. Hmm, wait a minute, my first Reiki teacher, Laurie Grant, taught a form called Raku-Kei, based on the thunderbolt and known as The Way of the Fire Dragon. This form was founded by another of the Takata 22 named Arthur Robertson....Sorry it's 4am and I'm beat and more than a bit fuzzy. Night folks...

Hi Spritboxer, Welcome to Mystic Board

I love the Egyptian Energies such as Sekhem, they were one of the first I headed for when I heard of Patricks experience in the Great Pyramid, truly fascinating.  The All Love is a bit kaftanish though lol but works incredibly well and gives the energy a different colour I think?

I think reiki is all about tweaking too, have you looked at Celtic reiki? that is a fantastic modality and really brings the energy full circle taking into account the energy of nature and all things and what they can offer us in healing tips and mediums

Hi Gem,
Thanks for the warm welcome. No Celtic Reiki yet but it sure sounds like something I'd look into. I now remember taking a form of Huna from Laurie Grant a few years after my first Reiki Intensive with her. She had moved to Hawaii and had been selected as the Chosen One by some of the Kahunas there who taught her Huna. She promptly renamed it and spread the word as only she can do. It's a strong, rainbowish energy and you don't channel it through you but bring it down directly to the recepient. Ya know, I forgot I had taken this class, I need to find the manual and go through it again. I remember attending Laurie's demo with Magaret Gamez from AllReiki, you could see a shimmer in the air as Laurie worked the energy and Margaret exclaimed, "How the hell is she doing that, maybe if you twist...?" Her reaction was really funny but I was amazed by that shimmer and signed up on the spot. Something more for the stewpot, lol!

You can't beat an in person workshop, picking up on other's energies is a real eye opener.  The rainbow energy sounds very interesting, especially the bringing down.  That sounds very much like the calling in of energy that I do
