Hi, I don't agree that reiki is a 'touch' healing method. Much reiki is given distantly or without any touch at all.

You also ask for a lot of details, and I am wondering why you need them? Surely if you are a reiki master then you are able to tune in and attune without such mundane items as date of birth, place etc etc?  I can quite easily and when I attune people distantly for free I don't need those details, so you make me wary.

What happened to level one? The most important level of reiki? Do you not start your tuition with that level? Without level one,  2 and 3 are mostly meaningless and could be overpowering leading to a health problems.?

One year, I realized I was stuck: mentally, physically, and spiritually. I'd been an SGI Buddhist for a very long time, but even all my chanting wasn't breaking whatever it was. I'm originally from the US Midwest and we're not known for our openess to alternative healing type things.  So, it took grinding my life to a halt before I'd even try it.

Starry, I had a similar reaction like you did.  It was as if someone turned on a faucet that hadn't been turned on forever.  Tears and pain that I had bottled for lifetimes came rolling out.  I was lucky that my Reiki person didn't open everything all the way -- I really wasn't ready to open the whole thing yet.  It took time.  I never bothered to tell my Reiki person when I had a bad session.  It really didn't dawn on me that there was a connection!  LOL. DUH!!!

I still have a critical mind about the ability to heal over the phone.  I've come a long way and I know I have farther to go. But, I will never ever doubt the effects of Reiki. Please don't that time effect how you view Reiki. Just let your person know and he/she will protect you.

Reiki is to be understood in a broader way. Reiki is broadly known as a touch healing method. May be because the level 1 starts with hand positions. "Touch" is not to be considered as a word for physical touch. Reiki healing is done for physical, emotional, spiritual aspects. Also for distant healing and attunement.

Reki attunement from one master to another varies. What my master has taught me is acceptable to me and passed on to my students. There is no wrong in the way you attune and I attune (if you really understand reiki).

Date of birth is needed to confirm the same person and to fix the time I need to know the place where the person resides. My time in India is different from theirs. So the call in attunement will be easy for the person. This is done for the mutual convenience rather than difference.

This person has already undergone level one attunement(please read the mail carefully) so the second and third attunement will be sufficient for this person according to me. His/her request is for second and third only.

Please understand reiki attunement varies from master to master. The intention is more important than the method. You go ahead with your method. That is quite right.

I have been aware of reiki for quite sometime, say about 12 years. But I was not involved with it. Then one of my friends helped me to heal from anemia with reiki. I picked up the system then, went thru my cleansing process and slowly reiki went again into background. Offlate, one fine day I sat on the internet and asked uncle google about reiki especially FREE. Lo and Behold I was swamped with reiki energy in all its glory across different systems, combining with various other forms of alternative and normal healing processes. And out of all this I was gifted by reiki with distance healing and I have not looked back.

So did I find Reiki OR Reiki found me!!!

You stated that you had always felt the energy, yes that is very possible and was the Spiritual connection as a healer, not Reiki as in an attunement.
We are all born with some connection to universal life force energy vibrating through our three bodies at some level, from you discription this was the case with you and when you were healing you were taking on to yourself the negative energies of that person and had to get rid of them, it is this energy that the person becames aware of.
She was in error assuming that you had Reiki as the individual vibrations of the symbols written as a formula had to be applied to selsted Spiritual Chakras or energy centres and so increasing the vibration of those energy centres, there is more but this is a simple explination as to what you may heve experienced.
If the attunement was done properly and sealed then you may be more aware of the vibrations.
As far as the illness is concerned it was very possible that you were bringing up a lot of crap that you had picked up from others and it  is very common.
Just be aware that not many people really know what Reiki is and how to apply it.
