We are still waiting for my wife's treatment to begin and while her symptoms are not getting any better (they cannot be expected to at this stage), we both seem remarkably calm for two people who are normally chronic worriers and panic merchants.
Our responses are totally inconsistent with what we would have done if this had happened to us even five years ago.
I cannot be sure about this, but there are so many people like yourself from all over the world sending us their positive healing thoughts and prayers, that maybe it is the combined power of those prayers which are currently at work in our lives, helping us to remain calm and strong in the face of what her doctors might tell us is the long term outlook for M's remaining quality and quantity of life.
Your honest feedback did wonders for my self confidence. It is very revealing of your constant and ongoing need to feel needed and to help and to heal others, often at the expense of not at least getting some of your equally important needs met at the same time.
Here is one of my favorite books on assertiveness training. If you have not already read it, then I would strongly suggest that you should get a copy of it, and study it as soon as possible with the intention to stop your largely unconscious healing work from draining you so much.
"When I Say No, I Feel Guilty" by Manuel J. Smith Ph.D. 1975 [Bantam USA]
Also do some personal research on the internet to discover the important differences between SPIRITUAL HEALING and MAGNETIC HEALING. It is my feeling that you are unconsciously doing too much of the latter, and draining yourself unnecessarily as a result.
Doctors treat, but God heals.
