so I read this girl at my work on 'accident'...she was speaking about her dad that passed away when she was 7, she's 27 now, and all the sudden i saw a huge bright light around her head and shoulders in the shape of either her or maybe her dad? not sure here, but mentally i saw a mexican man in a red plaid shirt and mustache smiling at her proudly, i remember he had such sweet eyes. I didnt even think about it, I told her what i saw, she was so happy! I told her he was proud of her, it was a great feeling to be able to do that for someone, but I didnt even ask for the info as it wasnt aformal reading. My question is, does this happen, info just comes to you or was this a one time thing? I have to say I was excited. Any feedback or 'vibe' you get from this would be apreciated! Thank you!

I notice you have asked for specific people to reply to you rather than a reading. I am not sure that our dear Spiritalk reads the Psychic Reading sub forum here that much she usually weaves her wisdom in the main Psychic Forum, however, I hope it is ok for me to reply too.

It is not good to ever read anyone by accident and tell them. Always ask permission or you will very soon lose friends and become a liability to yourself. Often psychics, mediums and clairvoyants ( I am a psychic-clairvoyant) will read someone inadvertantly, in fact we are getting information in all the time at an amazing rate, BUT, that does not mean that we should always pass it on. Discretion and care is something that you will gain with experience.

Yes these things happen often but do not pass it on or very soon you will find that someone accuses you of spying or invading their privacy or being nosey or a freak etc etc.

Now,  I am not telling you off, far from it, well done, brilliant experience, BUT, be careful and aware and start by gently suggesting you may be able to help.

I posted this in the psychic reading forum because spiritalk and eye of the tiger have been  agreat help to me and eye has said if I had a question to post it here. So I did. I read you say NEVER read a person without permission, this girl at work is a very good friend of mine and my abilities are known to her so it wasnt RUDE of me and she didnt take it that way. I'm not about to READ a perfect stranger just because I get info. I'm not stupid and although I've had abilities for sometime now my experience isnt where it should be because I've blocked it here and there.  again, your input is fine, i'm not a RUDE person. Yes I did post this specifically for them. But i'm open to whatever input there is. So in closing i appreciate your words of warning but I'm  big girl and I know what is acceptable and what is not. I'm not telling you off either, far from it. Thanks again.

While I appreciate the genuine compliment you have just paid me, Cassie was absolutely correct in saying that this should have originally been posted in the main psychic forum, instead of on this board.

This forum is exclusively for reading requests only.

You were clearly not asking for a reading this time.

Cassie is also just as qualified as I am to respond to what was a general question, regardless of it being directed to either myself or Spiritalk.

I would have offered you the identical advice in the absence of not being asked to read your situation, and consequently like Cassie not knowing that the other person was fully aware of your abilities, and open to being read.

Contrary to popular belief, none of us can read the contents of your thoughts. Instead we read your personal energy field (aura) and emotions (through empathy).

I therefore fully support moving your posting to the main psychic forum, and do not want this to cause any further bad feelings between the three of us, who are all working on the same side and doing our best.

If in future you want to specifically ask me to answer a question for you which is not in itself a reading request, could I please ask you to post it in the main psychic forum, then send me a brief private message in order to let me know that it is there?

This has become necessary because I do not normally have enough time and energy to be able to regularly monitor the main psychic forum, and if you do not send me a private message I will almost certainly miss seeing it.

On another forum I go to someone posted a question about reading for friends.  It is rather a minefield and some interesting information came up.  We should never read for those we know - although this random message was different - because we know them and their circumstances and it can smack of our wish bone rather than psychic input.  And it is the fastest way to lose a friend in the long run!  

I find readings give what we Need to hear not so much what we Want to hear.  And they can be brutally honest about the work we need on ourselves to get to a better spiritual level.  This may not be what friends want to hear.
