Alii,
It took me until I was in my mid 20s to decide that I badly and urgently needed a driver's licence, and so I did exactly the same as you.
It was not enjoyable or even bearable being a high school teacher who was taking the same bus as his students were, day after day.
I first went out and bought my own new car (a 1976 Datsun 120Y for $AU 4000), then paid for my driving lessons in that order.
And I received my licence after my first driving test.
I was so determined never to have to share the bus with my students ever again, that it made my fears about driving much easier to overcome.
You already have something or should I say someone special in your life to help you battle your fears of driving, and to give you the same high level of motivation as the smelly, crowded bus gave to me to get my own set of wheels.
Cheers,
EoT
