Hey there. I thought I might give it a go at asking for a reading. Many thanks in advance for anyone who cares to read me. Respond to any part and/or parts you feel like!

Career/Finances:
I am basically wondering if you can get a sense on what may be in store for me job wise or career wise in the next little while or so. I'm currently a student in the liberal arts, and will be graduating shortly. Time and again (well probably about three times) I have had readings of different sorts tell me that my current line of study does not really seem to be in the picture of my life's career path. It almost seems to be completely absent to the readers who've read me in the past few years. (They ask what I'm currently doing, then either tell me they don't see that in my future or simply move on without responding about it, but I don't know what to think about that). I have been told my talents lie in something I simply feel I have no interest in, feels entirely uncreative to me and quite simply, boring. Somehow it always slips my mind to inquire further about the reasons behind this.

Love Life/Relationship:
I am currently living with my boyfriend and we aren't quite in the place in a relationship I/we feel we should be. We are very distant, and seem to be blocking one another out quite a bit. Not even sure what we are blocking each other from (aside from this just being a typical thing for me to do with humanity at large, especially those closest to me). What do you see in store for our emotional energies (or perhaps, rather, my emotional energies)? Are we going to continue on this path of blocking each other out, or do you think there is a chance of us finding a way of opening up and delving deeper into one anothers' emotional boundaries. I'm wondering what might bring such a change about, if anything.

Hopefully this wasn't too long. Thanks again.

Since answering the question as to whether or not your boyfriend is blocking you would require a third party reading to be given which is not allowed under the forum rules, this reading will focus instead on your career/finances, or section 1 of your request only.

Your problem with the readings which you have been given so far by several psychics which appear to indicate that you would not be successful in any job which your liberal arts qualifications might possibly lead to has been caused by a combination of a serious failure by the readers involved in explaining how to use this information, plus you not having challenged them once the reading had been completed, in order to push them further to do so.

Honestly after hearing repeatedly from them that the liberal arts course which you are about to graduate from has been a total waste of time and effort (and money), I am hardly surprised that you were speechless after receiving such a nasty shock such as that.

Did they explain to you that making such an important and potentially life changing decision as to deciding what your optimum career might be should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER be based ENTIRELY on any psychic reading?

The intuitive insights gained from such a reading must only be used in combination with information collected from a huge variety of other professional and non professional sources to make a reliable assessment of your chances in any given field.

Did they explain to you that the list of personality traits which came out of their reading on which their prediction was based are only those for what is seen as the "average" person?

Each of us as individuals are unique, and therefore far from being "average", which means that the you may have only one or a couple of the personality traits on the list, or none at all. There is nobody alive who would have all of them, and yet their predictions are based upon this being true.

Independently of what method of divination was used to arrive at this prophecy, whether it be the Tarot, numerology or some other alternate method, did they happen to explain to you that these are the qualities of character with which such an average person is believed to have been born with?

Since so much has happened since you and I were born in the way of our upbringing and our environment which includes the sum total of all life experiences and changes between then and now, your list of personal qualities at your current age could be miles or poles apart from what they were when you entered this lifetime.

Now it is true that based upon your date of birth using numerology that your calculated Life Path Number (LPN) would be NINE.

25 May 1986 can be written as 25/5/1986 (using the Australian format, a layout which does not effect the final LPN in the slightest).

(2 + 5) + (5) + (1 + 9 + 8 + 6) = 36

3 + 6= 9

Using an average person who walks the number nine life path as a general guide only to what type of career you might be expected to be best suited for at the precise moment of your birth, I would say that the following short list would be the ones which were worth exploring.

Quote:
Life Path Number 9 - THE HUMANITARIAN - If this is your Life Path, you live to benefit society both local, and worldwide. Suggested careers include: Teaching, counselling, child protection, journalism, broadcasting, language interpreter, and research scientist. Careers to avoid: anything where there is no benefit to the community as a whole. There must be a social benefit for a job to be acceptable.

These predictions which are shaky at best, and useless at worst having in turn been based upon you being expected to have the following personality traits on your becoming a new born.

Assuming of course that you are an average person.

Compassionate
Generous
Trustworthy
Honourable
Material gains are not overly important
Selfless attitude
Philosophical approach to life in general
Strong desire to help the weak and underprivileged
Frequently find yourself being used and let down by others
Very deep understanding of life
Make friends very easily
Can be overly demanding
Finds harsh realities of life difficult to accept
Can be naive and vulnerable to abuse
Tends to be a workaholic and/or perfectionist

Now I am certain that if any person were to go through this list of positive and negative personality traits, they would most likely find something which describes them in some small way. But is this enough to base your entire life career decision upon?

I certainly don't think so.

And I feel that you do not as well, for even though you have been made to feel terribly inadequate and on the surface at least having made a bad career decision if your readings were the only guide to this, I feel myself that at your present age with everything which has happened since you were born taken into consideration, a career in a field which your liberal arts qualifications would lead to would be I feel right up your alley.

I looked up a definition of what liberal arts were, just for my own interest of the most commonly accepted meaning of the term. I just wanted to check my own understanding of liberal arts against this.

Quote:
LIBERAL ARTS

Academic disciplines, such as languages, literature, history, philosophy, mathematics, and science, that provide information of general cultural concern: "The term 'liberal arts' connotes a certain elevation above utilitarian concerns. Yet liberal education is intensely useful" (George F. Will).

http://www.answers.com/topic/liberal-arts

In other words a series of seemingly unrelated subject areas which would together give you a well rounded character and education in a wide field of different ways of pursuing and accumulating practical knowledge, which could be useful at the community level in immensely and positively improving the lives of others.

Sounds to me a lot like you!

I am so relieved and happy that unlike many people who use readings by themselves to make their decisions for them, you saw through the sheer ridiculousness and incredible potential to wreck your life of having your whole working blue print planned out for you in fine detail, using only the Tarot or numbers to tell you that you are on the right or wrong career path.

Please trust my professional judgement as your reader when I say that I both intuitively and logically feel that you are right on course with the career direction to which your studies in liberal arts from which you are soon to graduate would lead, as long as you take no further notice of what these earlier readings have said about it being the wrong one for you.

You are right on track for a career in which you would be likely to achieve much of a positive nature which could be useful to people needing the type of help you could give them. This course and the career paths that it could lead to are highly consistent with your life mission, which is essentially a humanitarian one in you wanting to use your job and the money and good feelings it will generate to inspire other people to equally find the best within themselves, and to heal lives using the business world for leverage. See what I mean? Right up your alley!

Many blessings and full steam ahead (green light), minus you putting yourself in danger of becoming a workaholic and/or perfectionist.

Yeah, I realize I probably should have worded that much differently to ask if there was anything that might lift my emotional blocks. Sorry about that: I should know better!

I didn't ask specifically about my career, so I definitely don't feel like any of the readers I have seen have wronged me in any way by leading me astray. I think I am just more curious as to what has been said to me--I tend not to make a lot of instant commentary on what people are saying, but rather try to bring it into my own knowledge and kind of digest it there from my own vantage point; They say lots of stuff to me, then I have to go home and sort it all out for myself.

I definitely don't take what other people say about my personality or life path to heart, since I know I am the ultimate authority on that!

Thanks! These are really encouraging words. I do ultimately believe that my time in study thus far has been very beneficial to me and has helped me grow into who I am and who I will become.

To be more specific, I guess my issue, or curiosity is that I've been told I have a mind for Business and for Money, essentially, and that is not up my alley at all. It has always been the more creative side to an arts degree I have been interested in. I have essentially been studying writing (creative and academic), editing, and language. Definitely no readers have acknowledged my writing aspirations--but perhaps I really don't have enough passion there. I had a palm reader tell me he definitely saw nothing to indicate writing in my hand. Everyone rather has concentrated on my head for business and for money--which are two things I have zero interest in (or at least seem to have zero interest in). Part of me wonders if that's what people want to hear "you have a head for finances", but part of me wonders if I'm sussing myself out all wrong. Part of me recognizes I do have a secret aspiration to own my own business (would so much rather be my own boss)--but it's more of a whim, and not something I feel really passionate about, I just definitely can't see that as anything I am headed for, or feel actually driven to do. Somehow the word "business" has always been a bit detestable to me, like I want to stay as far away from it as possible.

But I definitely like the way you said:

It sounds very good worded that way! And right up my alley!

I agree with what you say about those general readings for personality types. For example, I have a twin sister, so our astrological charts are virtually the same, and yet we are miles different. Our numerological LPN is also the same, and even my father has the same one. But we are all miles apart when it comes to that! The list you gave me for 9 doesn't apply in the same way to all three of us at all! Of course we can all find relateable aspects of our readings, but the aspects apply differently to different individuals. And not even totally dependent on how we grow up, but I also believe on how we are born as well. My twin and I have different genetics and different mental structures, so we even process the world through different filters. There is no way we could end up the same despite having such similar astrology and numerology charts. It's really very interesting stuff!

Thanks EOT!

Caithiggs,

You are very welcome for the reading and I was most impressed by and appreciative of your positive and comprehensive feedback.

It shows me that you have thought deeply about these issues beforehand, and that you have a good head on your shoulders.

Your reading clearly demonstrates your admirable strength of character and your sheer courage and determination to succeed, in spite of people who should know better not to interfere, trying to tell you that failure is your only option.

Whoever told you that you cannot simultaneously have a keen mind for business or good sense with money, and also be well suited to study liberal arts and ultimately become successful at doing a job that your course leads to?

Isn't making money and conducting business according to your spiritual principles just as much an important part of your culture as are the other items on this list?

Economics is an academic discipline.

Surely both of these personal strengths can be right up your alley at the same time.
