Hey. I am just curious, how does this friend feel about you having a baby? In this kind of scenario, I would ask myself this question before taking her on the word about it. She may have other motivations for saying such things. And, "practicing" sounds like she is also quite new to the Tarot, so I would keep that in mind. Has she shown any reservations toward you having a baby (whether she has actually mentioned the reservations or not)? I just believe that sometimes people new to reading can let their own ideas cloud the reading a bit. If it was something she picked up, and she does not have a lot of practice clearing her own thoughts away from her intuition, it really could be her own deep feelings coming up, and have little to do with you. And I'm not saying that's definitely the case, since I don't know anything about your friend. But it's certainly something you should keep in mind when getting a reading from a novice.

I think the points you bring about are very valid in this situation Cait. There is another thread relating to another question that Stadust just asked (shame it wasn't amalgamated here really because it is so closely related to my reading) I think it is always important to think about people's motives.

Some people will just give a reading because they are open and caring and want to help anyone, others seem to have an ulterior motive that may or may not be apparent.  Also another point is about judgement, if a question has been asked then the reader does need to be unbiased and remove any personal thoughts or feelings so that they can concentrate on the reading that is to be given and not on their own priorities, ego or values.
