This short note of appreciation is mainly to let you know that I have read this (although it took me long enough to get back to you), and I sincerely thank you for your kind feedback concerning your friend's family.

Although you may not know all the details, there is more than enough here to confirm that my original impressions about her mother were fairly accurate and straight to the mark.

She is indeed fortunate and many times blessed in my opinion to have such a caring and loyal friend such as you to be there for her if only in spirit, during her time of greatest need.
