I'm getting the feeling that my efforts to get a job are being stopped at the moment because I am awaiting an iminent surgery to fix a hernia in my abdomen. Im sure there will be no problems with the surgery as I have been told I will have more children. But I rang the hospital yesterday to chase up my appointment with the surgeon because I feel worse and worse as time goes by and she was really nice and game me an app for next monday! so I will probably have to wait a while for the operation.
Im applying for jobs all the time and dont seem to be getting anywhere, meanwhile everything seems to be starting in August - like I cant get a nursery for my daughter until the middle of August, I cant start my Norwegian lessons till the middle of August (I live in Norway), so maybe Im supposed to get a job then? which would mean I have my surgery before? |
Hello Claire,
I would be pleased to give you a reading about the above part of your posting, while keeping in mind that we are not allowed by international law to comment about matters of your health or your medical condition, which must only be discussed with a qualified general medical practitioner or specialist.
Because I am not a trained medium myself and do not therefore consciously work with or invoke spirits, I cannot unfortunately help you much with your question about which spirits are around you at this particular moment.
Yes it has been known in the past that deceased relatives and friends have helped those left behind when it does not involve them removing the person's right to express their own free will, and when it is felt to be in their best interests to do so. In other words if your deceased relative is watching over and protecting you and is allowed to help you to overcome your difficulties consider yourself to be blessed, but just do not depend on it happening.
On the other side of the coin it has been reported more than once in the literature that when certain spirits (not necessarily evil as such) have enough psychic energy to be able to influence what is happening in the physical world so could in theory ruin a person's chances of being able to earn an honest living. But if indeed any of the spirits presently around you possess the huge amounts of energy required to accomplish this and are out to prevent you getting a job (and I seriously doubt this is happening), then I would be looking at the many other possible reasons why this should be happening, long before I even considered spirit intervention with the intention to cause you harm. I would rate this possibility either at or very near the bottom of the list of potential reasons why you may be experiencing difficulty in getting a job, if indeed it plays a role at all in your ongoing unemployment.
Always possible, but in my professional opinion as a reader highly improbable, tending quickly towards zero?
So now on with your actual reading in response to your questions of which there were effectively two.

| Question One - What are the possible reasons other than malicious spirits as to why I am having such great difficulty getting a job? |
Here are only a few selected items which came out of both your reading and from looking around at what is happening to almost everyone else at the moment, factoring in the further restrictions being placed upon you as a loving and responsible mother, as well as because you are awaiting surgery for your hernia and are therefore most likely regarded as unfit for many jobs on offer.
1. The current world economic downturn/negative adjustment/recession/depression is forcing many employers to shed workers, instead of taking any new ones on.
2. Your age could be a factor. You are thought to be already over the hill and a candidate for the scrapheap according to many companies if you are more than 25 years of age. Please do not laugh about this as this narrow attitude is unfortunately widespread in the current highly competitive and to be honest cut throat state of the employment market. It is simply too sad and serious to be laughing about their lack of foresight in balancing both youth and experience in their work force.
3. Your restricted working hours, unless you can also pay for the supervised child care. While many governments are encouraging mothers to return to the work force by providing extra financial incentives both to the parent and their prospective employer and cheaper child care facilities to allow this to occur, many are not. What is the situation where you live?
4. With such fierce competition happening for each position by so many hopeful candidates, having a career counsellor or guidance officer to help you match your qualifications and relevant work skills with the jobs available in your local area is almost an essential factor in any hope of being successful. Again, what is the current situation where you live for accessing and affording a good career advisor with a specialised knowledge of your local area?
5. Many employers and those who are conducting interview treat people who are currently unemployed as second rate citizens, and are highly suspicious of why they are not working. The longer one is unemployed, the worse this effect becomes. No wonder then that so people who are long term unemployed give up when they are being treated as either criminals or being well on the way to becoming brain dead.
The message behind this is not to allow them to pigeon hole or deflect you from believing enough in yourself and your abilities to keep trying regardless of how they might treat you (easier said than done), and to be willing to get your foot in the door by accepting a position which may not be exactly what you were looking for, but is at least in the right general direction. The best way to show an employer that you would be a valuable asset to any company with a similar purpose to either his or hers is to first get a job there, then show them by your performance instead of through possibly empty promises and words at an interview? The best relevant work skills and experience are often also the most recent, in many employer's eyes. Have you previously had relevant work experience, and how recent was this? Are you both able willing to retrain or further your education to get your qualifications up to the required standard, once you are working?

| Question 2 - What do you feel would be the best relative timing for taking the Norwegian lessons, arranging suitable child care, getting a job and having my hernia surgery done? |
First keep pushing for the hernia surgery to be done as soon as is possible.
Your health must always take top priority over all other factors. With your hernia fixed you will be in a much better position to make any important decisions, and to handle the extra stress which is necessarily involved with making such as series of major life changes as these are, within a relatively brief period of time.
Presumably you will need child care while you are in hospital, and possibly while you are still recuperating at home up to a certain point depending on how well the surgery went and your body's rate of healing. You may need child care when attending your Norwegian classes, and of course if you have not previously arranged childcare before you apply for the job, then you will not be considered as a valid applicant.
If your job will definitely require a more fluent use of your native language to help you climb the promotion ladder, next comes the lessons. But if as I suspect that many of your clients will also speak English and speaking Norwegian is not one of the essential criteria for such a position, save your limited money for better child care instead.
Finally you can now more hopefully apply for the position you have selected, with the assistance of your career guidance officer as an added advantage or boost to your likelihood of being the successful applicant over the competition. Plus it will probably not do your levels of self confidence and self respect any real harm as well in the process.
Enough said or read?
