As long as in caring for your children to the best of your ability you also get some of your equally important adult needs met as well, then you should be able to help them more effectively and for longer, and also feel that your own life has a meaning and purpose including but not entirely defined by your role as their mother. If we constantly as responsible and loving parents (our son and daughter are now 21 and 25 years of age respectively) sacrifice our own health and happiness for the sake of our offspring as martyrs to their cause, what good are we going to be to anyone, least of all them and ourselves?

Yes, a good point as well  Sometimes I don't take the time, because it is just me to care for them.  I take the every other weekend that they are with their father to relax, and only then if I don't work lol  Which explains why I have felt to scattered and distant from the universe lately, I haven't taken the time to be one with it.  I'll have to work on that.
