My name is Dennis and 27 years old (born in 12/20/80) and I recently graduated with a business degree two months ago. I feel like I've been going to school all my life that lately, I feel that my life has remained stagnant. I have a great job but I feel disoriented as far as where my career is heading at the moment since I would like to pursue many things. I'm just totally lost on my future prospects and where I'll ultimately end up in.

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to extend to you a very warm welcome to these forums. From what you have told me you are already more fortunate than many people I have read for who have graduated and are still well after this time unemployed. Can I also safely assume that the job you do have falls very short of your expectations as to what a person with your degree should be capable of, and that what was only intended as a stop gap measure until something better comes along is beginning to feel as though it could become a permanent arrangement?

Wow, great response, eye of tiger! I know I have these qualities but although I have the qualities, I always "feel" that I can go far more with my potential. My job right now is mentally challenging (programming), but it's always good to know what else I can offer within myself to an employer or business. Your response helps clarifies that. You are far from being alone in feeling that you are capable of doing much more. The self help author's ideas of each of us as human beings having an almost limitless potential can either be used to motivate us to do our very best with what we have, or it can be abused in order to raise our own expectations of ourselves to such an unrealistically high level that we will never be satisfied with any of our achievements, no matter how significant they might be to us and regardless of whatever adverse circumstances we successfully overcame to reach for our dreams.
