I am so sorry to hear that you have had a rocky start to 2008. The energies at the beginning of this year have been really unstable and caused many problems worldwide. The good news is that theywill settle with the next moon and so we should all be able to look forward to a happier and more relaxed few months

I had my Avalon Oracle cards on my table here and so thought it might be fun to see what comments they had to make on your situation too

Three cards came out, all sacred journey markers, the first is FOCUS, this card shows us a woodland scene, many winding paths in all directions and only a single signpost. Perhaps this card is asking you to focus on what you want out of your relationship? Which path do you want to take? Which path does your partner? Are they the same or different? Knowing what you want from this is essential, as a good relationship is based on trust and give and take. Without knowing what your goal is you are liable to blow with the trees and change direction all the time. Fine but if you have fundamental differences then it is best to talk about them now.
The next journey marker is WEALTH, always a prime concern with couples, is the aspect of money and finances. Too much, too little, spending concerns can really change our whole opinion of someone and cause a rift. Better to take this bull by the horns and make sure that there are no hidden surprises along the way.
Next comes RISK, this is the card that tells us to take that risk, to try things out, to have excitement and fun and lots of laughter. When a relationship is crossing a rough sea we can all sometimes forget how to enjoy ourselves. These times are when it is most important to re awaken the emotions and to remember why we are in this relationship. Nothing is always plain sailing and having difficulties are only natural now and again as our own emotions and hormones wax and wane and change with the seasons.  Everything in life is a circle, and so this is reflected in our relationships, sometimes things run their course and unless we do something to stop this happening the cycle restarts and begins again.

It has been a horribly difficult beginning for us this year, with alot of twist and turns. obstacles cropping up everywhere. I am feeling stuck and caged in with all the troubles surrounding me.

A time of prospering and success is indicated by the upright sun card. The sun is in a rising state; you have awakened or are on the verge of awakening to an important insight or new path regarding the object of your inquiry. There is also new energy coming into the situation. If there has been darkness or confusion, know that the first rays of daylight are up ahead, signalling a period of fertility and new growth. This situation is an important source of energy for you; explore where it is coming from and where it is leading you.  Spiritual illumination is also an aspect of the upright sun card. If you have begun a spiritual path, stay on it; it is, for the moment, the right course for you.
