While I have had some success with being able to read someone's aura face to face in the past, to be honest I have never attempted it up until now over the internet.
So here goes my first attempt at trying this, with you as the guinea pig!
If the "trouble" with your root chakra was as serious as you appear to believe it is in preventing you from developing psychically then I really doubt that you would now still be here to ask the question. The simple fact of the matter is that if all your body's 7 major psychic energy centres or chakras was each perfectly attuned and aligned, then I feel that there would be very little reason for you still being on this planet, unless perhaps you have chosen to do so in order to help others do the same. No, I very much doubt that the remaining minor imbalance you are presently experiencing with your root chakra is the main source of your problem, if indeed there is any problem at all.
Rather than the darker areas in your aura (your overall aura is not darker in comparison to anybody else's) being the shadow of your supposed inner evil self (which I know you said as a bit of a joke), they usually represent areas which need special attention from a healer and their guide. Even totally black areas in your aura do not mean that you are somehow intrinsically evil, but they do usually mean that fairly urgent action is required in order to quickly correct any imbalances the black does represent, if the person is going to have at least an average chance of surviving in either an emotional or much more rarely in a physical sense. Since you presently have no totally black areas in your aura, this is not an issue for you at the moment.
Since our root chakra is mainly involved with releasing and conducting the life force upwards along our spiritual spine, a deficiency in this area could cause you to be lacking in energy, motivation and temporarily making you feel disconnected from your physical body. You could at times feel completely off the planet, or spaced out. Chronic fatigue would be almost your daily companion if the imbalance in your root chakra was as significant as somebody in your past appears to have suggested to you that it might be.
I on the other hand sense that there are more significant blockages around your chest area, associated with your heart chakra. Basically this not only indicates that you may at some time in the future suffer uncomfortable symptoms in that general area, but that you may be also be having ongoing problems in practising self love. You have a lot of the colour green (actually aquamarine) in your aura which often suggests that you possess healing abilities, but the real irony of your situation is that you are unintentionally denying the same compassion and understanding you often show others who come to you for help to yourself. Self love is something very different from vanity or feeling that you are better than anybody else, but the message I am getting with reading your aura is that you are every bit as worthy of self love and feelings of self worth as the next person is, so open your heart, and let the sun shine both out and in.
Could I respectfully suggest that while I feel that you should not stop doing what you feel you can about your root chakra, that the regular practice of exercises in learning to love yourself (value and respect)for being the person whom you truly are would probably be much more effective in cleaning up any darker areas still remaining in your aura? You have so much potential for bringing about healing in others, but it is at the same time critical that you should also get some of your own equally important needs satisfied as well. Take special care with any unexplained troubling symptoms in your chest area, and see a doctor if these persist. Please do not misinterpret this as a warning that a heart attack is imminent, but I always feel that it is better to be safe than sorry. Early intervention greatly increases the chances of a successful outcome?

) At this point, the best I can do is "hold on." (as I've done many times before). I thought I was making progress with self-love. It was strange how you mentioned that. (I shouldn't be letting the self-doubt in either...ick). I know you have a lot to do, and time (as well as your gift) are very precious, but do you have any further advice/insight that you may be able to lend? I will wait as long it takes to hear even a "no" back from you. Please take your time. I respect you dearly. I hope you know that.
