I just had a reading with someone outside of these boards about connecting with my Grandmother who has passed. (Which I feel that she did get a connection with her.)

This lady said that she sensed my Grandmother having some sort of spiritual gift.

When she was giving me a message from my Grandmother she said "She's also saying something about spiritual gifts--that you have an ability too and that she understands a great deal more about those things now that she's not in body, and she wants you to exercise yours."

Later in the reading she said "Now I actually pulled a card about her childhood because I couldn't hear her clearly on that part. It was a card from Brian Froud's Fairie Oracle Deck (it's gorgeous). It is not a tarot deck in that it is not set up the same way--I can't read tarot." ... "For her childhood, I got a card called "Himself" reversed. This is a VERY strong message that she did have gifts and that they were oppressed because the religion in which she was raised." ... "I should tell you that she now (having crossed over to the very realm where gifts come from) understands it more and she wants you to know that it is important that you use yours, I pulled a card for you too. Out of 66 cards being able to be pulled up righted or reversed, I got the Himself reversed for you as well. That's a one in 132 chance. That was a DEFINITE answer that the two of you shared a gift, maybe never spoke about it, but you got what grandma got. ;)"

Can anyone here read me and go into this further? What gift is it that I have?

Welcome Amanda,

I do not feel that you require a reading as such in order to determine what your particular psychic or spiritual strengths happen to be.

While I recognise the importance you give to the messages which were passed on to you from your late Grandmother through this medium, everyone I feel possesses to a varying degree psychic/spiritual abilities.

The real questions that need to be answered here are "which of these abilities are strongest in you?", and "why would you chose to develop these abilities if indeed you do possess them in greater measure?".

In order to start the ball rolling, please describe in your response what psychic and spiritual experiences you have already had as an individual (beyond visiting a medium), and specifically how do you receive most of your psychic information.

For example, although you as with everyone else here have the full range of psychic senses, do you mostly have visions, hear thoughts in your head that do not appear to be your own, feel things that others around you cannot, or simply know things that others cannot by normal physical means.

It is quite possible that two or more of your psychic abilities are equally developed when compared to one another, so please do not feel that you can only select one item from the list.

I myself am primarily clairaudient (psychic hearer), but I also am highly empathic (sensitive to the emotions of other people) and posses the gift of healing. While I am hopeless at trying to visualise something, if I do receive a genuine psychic vision it is often extremely vivid and crystal clear. I also sense or feel spirit around me at times, but they will only communicate with me when they believe there is a real need to do so.

I am still unable to consciously invoke Spirit, and I have absolutely no idea of who my spirit guide is, but I have never allowed this to prevent me from being able to help other members on these MB forums, either by giving them a reading, or through using my teaching and communication skills.

But that's enough about me for now.
