hey hows it goin,

well the last time i had a reading was a couple of months ago in which i asked about what career to do and basically where to go from where I am currently at, i was told that i there was no need for me to rush into a career or anything and that i needed to balance out my own needs with where im going in life.

As of now I still not have left off from where i began and am frustrated and clueless of what to do, to be honest i have no life and believe me that is no exaggeration. I still don't have a job and I still haven't balanced out my personal needs.

If anybody could help me with what's in store for me would be a huge stress and frustration relief.

Sorry to hear that Brandon,

Lytse in his excellent response (17th August) to your previous reading request, has I feel already answered your latest questions much better than I possibly could.

And I quote:

Quote:
At 17, and being somewhat troubled by OCD, there won't be a single clearheaded soul who will expect you to know already what you want from life. The old saying "Life starts at 40" isn't just a coined phrase you know ;o)

It usually takes that long to find out what you DON'T want from life, as you try out several career moves and maybe have a few relationships. For a human being to feel at ease (and at peace as well) with who and what they are, it's necessary to find out your strengths, weaknesses and preferences.

Although two months might seem an eternity to a 17 year old who is affected by OCD, it is effectively only eight weeks further along a very long path towards you discovering mainly by trial and error what is your optimum career path. I feel that you are being unrealistic in expecting that you will have progressed as far as you seem to consider is reasonable for a person who already has so many personal challenges on his plate.

I do feel with due respect that your medical condition as well as any medications your doctor has prescribed to treat it could possibly be adding to your impatience to move things along according to your own time schedule, but I believe that you do not need these extra levels of stress you are presently placing on yourself (even though I never said it would be easy).

A certain amount of impatience to get their life and career on track are perfectly normal for any teenager of your age (in fact it is to be encouraged), but you have many more significant obstacles on your path than most, and must therefore adopt a slowly but surely approach to your life problems if you are going to give yourself an above average chance of overcoming them. Your strength of character is not measured by what you may perceive as your failures. You have taken on a huge challenge in your current lifetime, and are doing the very best you can with what you have been given.

I cannot give you a magic formula beyond the advice which I offered you in your previous reading in order to make this any easier for you, other than perhaps to encourage you to keep plodding along regardless, and to be kinder to yourself as you have already got this far often under adverse circumstances which would I feel have destroyed a lesser person than yourself.

Namaste,

Hi Brandon

I won't predict the future for you or foretell what your carfeer will be because I don't believe it has been mapped out yet, I believe that you can do whatever you set out to do and can change the future just by taking one step or smiling at a stranger  I totally understand where you are at, my son is 18 and also has ocd, and not a clue what he wants to do in life.
Why not sit down and think about all the things you like doing and all the things you might want to do. Perhaps you like gardening or maths or computers? Then expand those ideas and see which areas you are truly interested in, this might give you a starting point to then search the net for training or job opportunities.

With regards to the ocd, the first step is recognising that it is affecting you, the next is to talk about how you feel and what your personal rituals are. Do you have family that you feel happy talking with? Or a close friend? If not then what about a teacher, doctor, or penpal or e-pal? Maybe set yourself small goals and try to keep to them everyday? It all depends on how your ocd affects you and your life

17 is a hard age, but a wonderful one too Don't give up, just chill and take it slow, there is no rush xx

Have you told them how you feel when you hear them talking about you? Maybe they just don't realise?  You know, there's no short cut or quick fix, I really wish there was.

Have you looked into the other foums here? There is lots going on and you sometimes reeading about others can help ourselves
