While there are always some risks involved with going outside of our personal comfort zones, the idea is to do whatever we practically can to minimise these.

Feel the fear, but do it anyway?

People like their comfort zones way too much.

Should that read instead - FAR TOO MANY people prefer their comfort zones way too much?

If nobody chose to move beyond the limits of their own personal comfort zones, then there would no longer be the potential for learning and growth both as an individual and as a species as a whole. A comfort zone which is never stretched can rapidly become our own prison cell?

Since we as human beings are all still here (but only just in many cases) somebody somewhere must have chosen to move beyond their personal comfort zones, or the human species would surely have disappeared long ago. IMHO

An update for anyone who is interested.  I have received a final offer on this job and have accepted!  I'll start sometime next month.  I appreciate everyone's advice and guidance.  It's going to be pretty scary going to an unknown field, but I'm also excited by the prospects.  Thank you again!

Happy Holidays!!
If anyone is interested????

Hello again Jen,

Of course I will always continue to be keenly interested in what is happening in the lives of people to whom I have previously given a reading, including your very good self.

Would anyone whom you regarded as being a close friend of your's be expected to feel any different in this way than I am about you?

I therefore wish to be the very first person to heartily congratulate you in applying for and being accepted for this job, as I do recognise that it was effectively for you a leap into the unknown.

Use your fears of the unknown in order to encourage yourself to do the very best you are able to (forget perfection on the first attempt), rather than allowing them to continue to hold you captive indefinitely. As is also the case with life in general, the first few months on the new job are likely to be a matter of trial and error, as you gradually develop completely new skills which will give you a great advantage in the future in either this job, or in any future employment opportunities. It will at the same time be both frightening and exciting?

Cheers and the very best of luck with your new job (you deserve only the very best which life can offer you, with your positive attitude),

The only possible downside of all this is that we may not be seeing you as frequently as before on these MB forums?
