I recently lost contact with a very dear friend of mine. The last time that I spoke with him (via internet), he was in the area of the California fires. He didn't live there but he has relatives there, and I know he had been considering moving.
Now, he hasn't contacted me, even though he must know I am worried about him (I've sent him a couple of emails). Maybe he doesn't want to talk with me, I don't know, but I can respect that.
I know you don't do readings on a third person, but I don't need to know his motives, I just want to know if he is ok. So, if someone can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. If you need more details, just let me know.
If you think this is not appropriate, I can respect that too. Thanks either way.

If as you say this person is a very dear friend of your's why then would you feel that he would choose not to talk to you if he were given the choice?

My feelings are that he is presently too busy to get back to you via either the internet or telephone, but that he himself is quite OK.

He is a caring and giving individual who often sacrifices his own needs in order to help those for whom he feels responsible, and one of his needs he is presently sacrificing in order to help his relatives as best they can to recover from the devastating bush fires in California is to place communication with his own friends on the back burner for now.

I sense that you will most likely hear something from your friend in the weeks leading up to the Christmas New Year period (not that long to wait), and that your friend will then be able to assure you that he is perfectly fine, and your genuine concern for his health and safety was without any basis in reality.

Instead of over concerning yourself that you have permanently for what ever reason lost contact with your dear friend, prepare yourself for a joyous reunion with him some time during the few remaining weeks of 2007. Hold memories of the happy times you spent together in the past in your mind, as you drift off to sleep each night. This will I believe reduce the delay in hearing from him.

Take good care of yourself as well in the meantime,

He is a very caring and giving person, and that is only one of the reasons why he is so important to me.
Unfortunately, I do have reasons to believe he might not want to speak to me. I know he cares about me, but maybe he thinks it's not his choice, I don't know. I wish I knew.
But I always told him I would respect his right to decide what he wants in his life, and I intend to do that. I just wish he had trusted me and said something to me.
I'm sorry, I know I'm being vague. I don't feel comfortable giving details about someone else in a public site... it's just that I feel so sad.
But thanks again, EOT. I know you are also a very caring and giving person... and I hope you are right.

Dear EOT,
I just wanted to let you and everybody know that my friend did contact me again. Not before Christmas but earlier today (26th), and he says he is perfectly fine.
I was worried because I thought he might have been depressed and had misunderstood something I said. But I am very happy now that I know he is ok.
And wanted to thank you again for your reassuring words and for the wonderful service you provide.
