Elizabeth,
After reading your request I received the image of a shoelace. If you go to the store to purchase shoelaces you will find that they come in pairs, one lace for each shoe. And although that sounds so obvious, if a child were to look at a shoe for the first time, instead of one string hanging down the front of it, you can easily see how he might come to the conclusion that there were two.
After all, an untied lace has two loose ends doesn't it? Two! Not one! And those loose ends accomplish nothing for each other or for the shoe as long as they are left that way. Loose ends find their purpose and discover their connectedness only by uniting in service to the shoe.
Elizabeth, in the the image I received for you is hidden a lesson in connectedness. For although the two ends of a shoelace appear to be two entirely separate entities, the are in fact two parts of precisely the same whole.
And though they may lay loose and separated on a shoe for a decade, when they finally give themselves in service, they feel instantly that the tug that ties them pulls on both of them equally. And in that moment they discover they are one.
Elizabeth, the image suggests that you already have a connection to the companionship that you are searching for. It suggests further that some work or service that has yet to bring you or "tie" you together will ultimately unite you.
The "other end" of yourself, Elizabeth, is very much like you and far closer at the moment than you know.
Hope this helps.
Grayson
