I believe that the reading could refer to either your close friend (not Michelle) or yourself (or to a certain extent the both of you).

Maybe it is precisely because you have so much in common with your other friend that you can now potentially be of such great help to one another. It takes one to know or more fully understand someone who is in many ways like themselves?

By helping your close friend in this highly specialised and caring manner, you are in effect also healing yourself, as you come to realise that all the adversities in your life have only made you into a stronger person than you once were.

You can now in turn give some of your own strength to your close friend, in order to give her the opportunity to gradually regain her self confidence, and to become stronger within herself as you did?
