Welcome David,

I am not heavily into predicting the future, as you are yourself constantly creating your personal future by whatever decisions you make in the present moment, your only true point of power. I am much more involved in giving you the necessary tools in order to better cope with whatever the future holds for you.

"Who am I?" is probably one of the most soul searching and deepest questions that anyone could ask him or herself, and although I can offer you some insights to point you in the right general direction answering that fundamental question is a lifetime process. Who you really are without any doubt is far more than the person people call David, but I liken the process of self realisation to continually peeling away the concentric layers of an onion, only to find another and yet another skin inside. You have always tended I feel to set unrealistically high standards for yourself (possibly because you feel that others always expect this of you) and when you inevitably fail according to your own measure you mistakenly believe that by trying even more to be the person whom you believe everyone will like you will automatically make things better or fix your life.

David,

When I read your request I immediately saw the image of a young man with blond hair standing on the beach with his back facing the ocean. The day was very bright and sunny. In fact, the sun was so bright he had to squint his eyes to look around.

He was the picture of strength and youth. The waves pounding in and crashing behind him indicated to me that he had alot of power and strength behind him that would carry him to wherever he wanted to be.

He seemed to be a cheeful, sincere, and thoughtful person. Out there in the sun and surf he seemed to be in his element. He wasn't cowering under an umbrella to shade himself. He was out there doing battle with the elements and enjoying it.

The ocean behind him was immense. There was no boat there on the shore. This said to me that he has not yet chosen a course to sail in life. However, the whole of the ocean is open to him. The winds were fair, the sky was bright blue and there were no storm clouds in sight.

Who am I and where am I going? You tell me. You tell me. Wherever it is you appear to have many ports of call open to you. There appear to be no obstacles in front of you.

Perhaps the message for you here is that you need to being to learn how to discern the winds and the tides instead of depending on someone else to do that for you. When you are out there in the middle of that ocean you are going to need a good measure of self-reliance and self-confidence to keep you afloat.

Right now let your interests be your clues. What do you enjoy doing most? Who do you enjoy being most. Who do you most admire? That last question is an important one. Because whom you admire is your clue as to the latent power and skill inside you to be whatever it is that person represents to you. How about just starting out by pondering these things.
