You have already done extensive personal research in order to find the best surgeon to do your surgery, even though this involves you travelling to California. Your self doubts and fears are perfectly understandable as there is I sense much more at risk here than only the state of your own health (although this is obviously of great importance to you and to your loved ones at this difficult time).
You have therefore already made what was the best decision for you to make at the time with what information was available at the time and I believe that you are now as fully prepared as you are ever going to be to approach the time of your surgery with both courage and hope that this will be a major positive turning point with your health overall.
Now that your plans have been effectively set in motion and although I cannot make absolute predictions about the possible outcome of your surgery in early September, it is now essentially a waiting game while all the final preparations are put into place. If you have been given special instructions by your doctor as to what you should do in the lead up to your operation, it is highly imperative to follow these to the letter in order to give the surgical team the maximum possible chance of this procedure being successful, even beyond everyone's expectations including your own.
Your reading leaves absolutely no doubt in my mind that you are moving in the right direction by having this surgery done, and should take some comfort from the fact that it would have probably been regarded as much more urgent and moved forwards if your doctor and specialist had felt in their professional opinions that this was necessary. I wish you well for September, and also suggest that you should try to minimise any further unnecessary stress in the meantime, or as much as is humanly possible while living a hectic, modern lifestyle in the opening years of the 21st century.
Please take care and please do not worry as there will be many unseen helpers on the 8th September who will be carefully guiding your surgeon's hands to give their support to his own medical training.
Namaste,
