i need to know is remaining friends with my ex a good idea? he still wants to remain friends? and does he have a new gf? and when is a new love going to come my way?

It is always good to forgive another and make peace.  Whether it is good or not depends on your feelings for this person.  It might not be a good idea if you still have love and see him with another.  Problems will arise and could pose a little difficult for you in the long run.  You must be truthful to yourself and make that determination whether you would be able to be friends and see him with another.  There is nothing wrong with maintaining your friendship and many have done so successfully.  Give yourself some time to discover what is out there.  Don't decide what you don't want in a person, but know what you do want and find that which you do want.  You will have many admirers, but don't see you tying yourself down to anyone particular within this year.
