All you can do is show them how similar you are.
But one thing about soul mates I have recognized and can say myself, am disappointed with results... but soul mates..
I am not very good at explaining things so bear with me I am going to attempt to..
Soul mates are those who understand life in the same ways that you do.
Yet, they may have a whole separate way of knowing it.
If you have come to understand that many ways of living parallel each other almost identically spiritually, but appear to be very different physically, this is how you will know a soul mate when you see one.
Though it may be disappointing that they may not see it themselves, but be very thankful, to recognize those you can learn from because they are just like you.
All you can do is observe them. Some you may notice are where you were in learning maybe not even a year ago, others... you will notice have just achieved the answer
to some problem you have been having, just by hearing their way of communication.
Soul mates are meant to help you recognize who you are and how to deal with it.
If you do ever happen to run into a soul mate who understands these things, well cherish this gift.
but until then, I'd say observe what happens and go with it -- there are many many soul mates
and of course you can be highly attracted to them... but isn't that typical?
One way to recognize your soul mates, connect your mind to them and take note of the results.

So--- to sum it all up... soul mates help you on the way to understanding your own spiritual self.

"soulmate", the more I hear that word the more I want to beat a romance novelist about the head with a baseball bat.
That and the dreaded "the one"

You go on with your life having accepted the teachings of self and gifts that one provided.

Thanks for that. I guess my definition of soulmates, now as I am more aware of it, is those who come from the same soul group rather than the "mating up" side of it.
I have met my "soulmate" but I dont see why they have come to my life, not like I have learnt anything from him. What was the point in me meeting him - zilch from where I am standing. I met him 3 years ago and still have feelings for him. I wish I never met him. Believe me I have thought about this ie. why I came to know him and so forth.

In my opinion than a soul mate is one who share your feelings above that of a "normal Love"

So there is no way you can meet your soul mate, and not get any response, because the major factor "mutual understanding and lover" are not fulfilled

Sometimes we also get a "soulmate" without love is needed,(friendship) but again is the "Mutual understanding" above normal, one of the main criteria, in my opinion.

What you have experienced is a crush, which not have received any response....which is a pain .......but normal.
