How do you know if you are actually "psychic"?

I've always been quite telepathic with certain people; once or twice I've foreseen quite random things that then happened.

I began reading tarot last year; really love it, but I know I still have an awful lot to learn. I started doing tarot readings on ebay, which some might think is not ethical as I am not a reader with years of experience, but I have been putting time and effort into each one. I do believe in the synchronicity of tarot which is why I decided to do it - I felt that as long as I did a genuine reading for them, then I wasn't doing anything wrong.

Anyway, it's been going well - they've all left very positive feedback that the readings have been very accurate, spot on etc. Some have come back for another reading. And the thing is, whilst I've been doing the readings, I have been getting flashes of information about these people. I've been a little reluctant to go into the full detail that I've really felt, as I'm still doubting that I could properly possess these abilities, so I have just hinted towards things.

It's difficult to describe - I don't see or hear anything, I just suddenly "know" things. But I don't know to what extent this is psychic ability, and to what extent it is intuition? And how can I develop it further?

Well, one way to *know* for sure that you're having psychic impressions is to get verification for the information you're picking up directly from the person you're reading for.

I'd suggest taking the advice of the other poster and use this board as a practice ground for verifying that your impressions are legitimate.  I'm sure there are people here who would be willing to let you read for them and ask them if the stuff you are picking up is correct or not, and give you clear feedback on the material you receive.

The truth to knowing if you are actually psychic Dawn, well I must answer this in that we are ALL psychically gifted. We all have the ability to be telepathic and empathic and so on. It just is easier for other people to become more in-tune then it is for others.

Working with "tools" such as Tarot can unleash other hidden gifts as during the time you are working with tarot you are working with the spiritual gifts that you already have. The more you practise with existing gifts the more powerful they become and at the same time the more gifts you aquire.

Yes, I know what you mean by knowing things without seeing/hearing them. That is how I do most of my readings myself. I've been reading since I was 7 years old and people always ask how I do it. It's just a knowingness. I just type what comes to me... it doesn't come to me through thought or words or images, it just comes.

Intuition and psychic ability to be honest are pretty much the same thing.
