I just saw one of your psychic readings which you said for someone "2-5 years"
Have you ever been able to see longer than 5years into the future? and if so, how many years and what type of reading was it? I'm curious because psychics usually don't give someone 5 years into the future --- we have free will, things change, etc... I was just wondering what the circumstances are when you're able to see many, many years out? When most things change within a year...
THANKS! |
Hi Procrastinator,
Readings of the type commonly given on this forum are thought to refer mainly to the next six months or so, the so called short term outlook.
Two to five years in the future from now is called the medium term.
Anything beyond that is involved with the long term, and no I have never given a reading involving any predictions more than five years out from the present.
To be honest I do not like to make any absolute predictions at all, but making any beyond the next five years to me seems pointless, as there are so many potential factors which could affect the outcome of such predictions that they would in my opinion as a reader be less than useless.
Notice that a cancer patient who survives for five years after being diagnosed is pronounced as having been cured, even if he or she dies one day later. This is usually regarded as the maximum time for any person to make even an educated guess about what could possibly happen in the future.

| Thanks 4 replying. But I have 1more question - you can add it to the same post/thread if you want. If a psychic was able to see beyond 10yrs. A free reading by a psychic who was very credible in the past. A life purpose reading. Would u call that destiny? Basically being told they'd know what their purpose is in 10 or so yrs. The psychic didn't know what their purpose is, but that they'd know in that time frame. How rare is that? |
I would give very little credibility to the claimed ability of this psychic to see that far into the future, especially when he was unable to identify what that life purpose specifically might be. I see no useful purpose in telling a person (whether or not the reading is free) that they have a life purpose or destiny which will not be met within the next ten years, but cannot also provide them with some clues as to what this could possibly be.
As Spiritalk so wisely says predictions made by psychic means are not that strong, meaning that when someone predicts only one of many possible futures is the one which must come true no matter what, he or she is assuming that nothing will change between now and then and that the person in question will make no further effort to change the future for the better. One of the few things we can depend on in life is change, so such predictions are in my opinion futile.
Basically you are then being told that there is only one possible outcome that cannot be changed, so sit back and enjoy a free ride in the meantime, waiting for your reader's prediction to come true simply because he thinks that this will impress you so much that you will come back to him again and again as your own endless font of guidance and wisdom, this time as a paying client and one who sings his praises to others in order to bring even more people under his spell.
The cheapest form of advertising, and the easiest way to feed their own fragile egos?
Pardon me, but people like this deeply offend my intelligence and genuine desire to use my intuitive gifts to help others, and they give caring people such as those volunteers who help out on these forums a bad name (which we do not deserve).
So called psychics who play God are a disgrace, and should not be taken seriously from then on. IMHO
