What are the different reasons that people choose to be on Earth?

I've heard that many are here to simply heal past pain in their life. I'm sure some are Teachers for their ultimate destiny here on earth. What I'm talking about is something that's NOT changable. That path that each individual decides and no matter what they do in life, they will end up on that path eventually. It's like each person has a contract w/God and no matter what you/they do regarding this issue, you cannot change it because you signed a contract - so to speak.

What are some other life paths/destines that you have heard about?

People come to earth, because it is the only planet where you can feel and experience emotion, all emotions, the entire range of emotion.  

People come to this earth, to learn lessons.  Yes, I believe one makes an agreement about what it is they want to learn while they are here, but from the moment of birth, it is then all by choice...to learn thru joy or pain.  Yes, you will eventually end up where you you need to be, or learning your ultimate lessons, so one can refer to that as a 'contract', but there is choice, in every instant, to choose the greater good, and to choose Love.    One does not have to learn to love, by being hated.  One does not have to learn respect by being treated disrespectfully.  There is choice, at all times, to act in honor, with dignity and integrity.

We each create our own world, at that moment by the choices we make.  Therefore learning to listen to your inner voice and guidance is incredibly important in that process, with the belief in ourselves at all times.

As creative beings there is no need for a blueprint.  We will learn where our life leads us.  We live many lives in one lifetime.  The people we meet, the places we go, and the things we do are all just a measure of our ability to learn and grow (hopefully in spirituality as that is the key to the universe).

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin:  we are not a human being having a spiritual experience.  We are a spiritual being having a human experience.

I don't believe there's any sort of contract. That would be too limiting.
I do, though, believe that there are some people in our lives we were destined to meet...but apart from that, our lives are completely open.

There was a movie made one time (it is Hollywood to be sure) where the devil and God had a bet on about a couple meeting each other when they returned to earth.  They had a deadline of age 21.  

As the scene closes they pass each other on the street - each turning around and feeling 'something' but don't know what - and then continue walking.  

Suppose this idea was real and one is born in the east and one in the west.  How likely is it that there lifestyle or family position would allow for them to actually meet in one place or the other?  It just seems to me there are too many variables to be valid.  

It is a lot like designing our life...how limiting!  I live for God's plan each and every day.  Some days I succeed and others are not so good - but the striving and intent certainly gains lessons and points.  Creation opens for me on a daily basis.  

i.e. my astrology said I would meet up with someone from over seas today.  What I did about it would be my choice.  Well, a friend who was born in South Africa joined our circle today.  He is an old friend and we connect up now and again - not regularly - for meditation and spiritual lessons.  We talk and learn from each other.  So the astrology was basically right.
