Perhaps you could gain some insight into psychic/mediumship abilities through the Mystic Academy Mediumship Development course.

A psychic reading attunes the psychic to their sitter through the material energies. All life is energies and learning to read and decipher them requires all our senses in tune for this purpose.

Ask a hundred psychics and get a hundred answers lol!

Usually a psychic does not need any tools, they may choose to use them but they are not necessary. A tarot reading uses tarot cards obviously and the cards can offer the information. A good psychic appears to almost lift the information from the air

Then there are the psychics that use spirit contact to prove life after death, and these can give mediumistic readings and contact the afterlife and world of the dead or spirits.

Those that contact the spirit realms are called mediums and the practice is called mediumship. The psychic works with the energies of life and living.

Ok,do you not agree then that all mediums are psychics, but not all psychics are mediums?
