Hi Aryanna,
one of the best methods i know for honing skills is psychometry, this is where you hold a persons jewellery or other personal item, you have a set series of questions that you ask, eg.
1 an emotional feeling around the person or a sense of hot or cold (sensing, empathic, clairsentience)
2 a scene from the past (clairvoyant, vision)
3 an important date/ something to look forward to (looking into the future)
4. health good bad average ( aura reading and interpreting)
5 what can be done to improve life/ health if not good (advisory skills reading forward and back to understand the present)
6. a special message just for them ( mediumship, working with guides)
meditation is a good tool to expand the energy system and open its configuration to external influence, there are those who believe this can be negative, it cannot, energy just is, period. it is your perception of what you feel that determines whether it is good or not. if you allow your self to just feel it, know it and relate it you will gain the best results for anyone asking for you help. in short i am saying try not to adlib, if you do not understand something, then it is best to just say what you have seen heard etc, rather than interpreting on the basis of your own life experience.
this offers a solution to so called blocks, when information is not forthcoming the problem stems from the reader and the causes can be numerous, the more you practice the better you get. start with friends, let them give you names or stuff belonging to a family member or friend you do not know or without telling you who it is. you get instant feedback that way, do not determine mistakes are to be an indication of whether you are good or not. they are a tool to use.
where a mistake is made, determine what you were reading, how you misinterpreted and how you can improve that.
me i love seeing someone with a skill i do not have in the abundance they do, then i happily steal it. not off them of course, i go home, meditate on their ability and bring the required energy into focus, i mimic that area and use it to enhance my own. i always leave them with a healthy dollop of something lovely(energy etc) by way of thanks.
there are many classes and on this forum lots of little exercises that can develop skills, but in the end practice is the key. the more you do the better you get. as time goes by you develop your own vocabulary, whether using a guide or not, certain images or sounds will have a representation for you, it becomes quicker to impart knowledge and easier to receive, perceive and interpret.
good for you and good luck
warm regards
D
