I'm curious to know how many of you got into whatever it is you're into...Like meditation, or tarot, or reiki, astrology or whatever! Give a little bit of history.

I started tarot when i was 10. its funny cause if you look at any book on tarot it will say. "keep out of reach of children, it is not a toy, but a means of divination".  i never mistreated my cards. i may not have understood everything...but i understooed that the cards were in a way "sacred".

My first deck, wasn't even a full deck. it was the major arcana and 2 cards were missing, they weren't even meant to be real tarot cards, they were made for a board game of sorts that were from an italian TV game show called "la Zingera" which means the Gypsy. They still worked...because i had such faith in that they were legit.  One of my cousins bought me a beginner deck and a couple books to study...and well, it all went up hill from there.



where did you get your start?

There was a training film I saw some years ago that outlined the many aspects and focus' of our lives via the various decades:

20s  we have finished school and our material success beckons - we seek our careers, lovers, relationships and family. We are in a particularly material focus for our life.

30s  we solidify all our ideas, philosophies and religion as we just 'know' we are right.  We are going through a career focus on success and our material ideas are going to take us upward.  Spirituality is there but not totally focused - just embedded as what we know til now.

40s  we do a 'making my mark' type of evaluation and start whole new directions.  We are more open to spirituality and it may get stronger than the material pulls.  Although many people have started whole new businesses in their 40s.

50s  we are solidifying our new starts and seeing if that is where we will make our mark.  We are open to new knowledge and the wisdom of age begins to set us up for learning and growing (spiritually as well as materially - balanced).

60s 70s 80  time for retirement for some and new creative directions for others.

Those that start on psychic activities too early tend to get lost in a material focus - they can sometimes be the ones where value for service tends to hold sway.  They can also put it aside for the material focus needed to settle into a well lived life with spouse and family.

When I was at School which was around 20 years ago, I remember being in the classroom and our teacher was guiding us through a meditation.  I did not know at the time it was meditation.  When I was at High School Mum and my Aunty had a seance back in about 1983, I came home for lunch and the seance was going that is when I was interested in the occult/paranormal.  Also when I was at School when the Teacher asked a question I knew the answer, but never put my hand up to say the answer.  I have an inner knowing.  I have been interested in Astrology since I was about 14 years old.  

             I think it was about 1990 that I bought a Tarot Card deck and a book on Tarot cards.  In 1996 I went to Meditation classes.  In the past few years I have been interested in Angel cards and have bought myself a deck.   I was searching the web and came across this website it is very interesting.

Ive had mine as long as i remember i could see and hear people when i was 4, i though that was normal.
Then i regressed it all when things got werid at 8, I rediscovered it all when i started having premonisons and seeing dead people again, now it like a food gate half open,

I had things happen when i was young that i did not understand, i would be lying on my back in bed and would suddenly be scared of hitting the ceiling, so i stopped laying on my back. I was often treated as a know all because i always knew what people were going to say before they said it. but mainly i was a solitary kid that did not make friends easily. I maintained a general peripheral interest in phenomena but nothing more.

i had a sudden surge of curiosity after my son was born, i was 37, i was leant linda goodmans moonsigns. i read it avidly but now i look back and think it really had minimal information really, but i was hooked, i then went out of my way to find her book gooberz, this book is one that to my knowledg no one i know has read, but again i immersed myself in it, i now realize it was the energy and the prose. but the book itself barely touched on things esoteric.

i was laying in bed, kids also in bed and was just drifting off to sleep when a beautiful voice, just behind my neck said, hi dorothy, well that set me going, i was alone in my room and no other adult was in the house. besides the voice would have been in my pillow, i was immediately awake, and we all know this one, every inch of skin and hair was stood up on end, i could not have been more physically alert. so i got up and paced around for a couple of hours.

that was truly the beginning. i wanted to hear that voice again, and at the same time i dreaded hearing that voice again. this did not start my psychic journey as such, it took me into high gear to heal my life, which was pretty trashy. the process of self healing (at least to a point of balance sort of) took 2 yrs.

after everything had been broken down, i was then in a position to develop, which happened by going to some meditation classes, the change from that moment was rapid and huge. becoming a seichim master teacher while learning reiki(then becoming master teacher) i started a journey to understand energy, its influences and visual representations, being the bull of course i had to do everything at once, so the next 2 yrs were hugely intense, as at the same time i went to classes on mediumship. learnt hypnotherapy and bless them took care of my kids. poor lambs watched mummy go through some serious changes. all good.

i called this period my accelerated learning period, because i was on a sole parent pension i had time, i went into a cycle of meditation that would not have been possible otherwise, sometimes meditating for 6-8 hours a day. not so bad, no tv so all my evenings were spent in a state of blissful learning. and here i am, still learning but with a few kernals of smarts to offer others

by the way, the voice was Nathanial, an angel and the first i was to meet
