Pete's so pure that his post about it comes through 3 times!
As for me, absolutely pure as the driven snow, as they say. Nothing but clean living and good, wise thoughts all throughout my life--NOT!!!!!!
Seriously, though--Prof. Akers asked what I wanted to ask...how do you define "pure"? Everyone's definition would be different; therefore (as with a lot of things) one needs to think, learn, meditate, re-learn when mistakes are made, etc. based on one's best understanding of what is good and "right". Aside from newborns, no one is completely "pure" by any definition. Just to re-state what everyone else has said here, don't get caught up in definitions and wondering if you're "good" enough in anyone else's eyes. What do YOU feel makes your existence in this world worthwhile, and how can you constantly work to act in a way that allows you to go to bed at night feeling that you've contributed something to someone or something? I don't think that the Creator (whomever that might be), or spirit guides, or most of the living expect that you do anything more than being the best person you can be whenever you can. Just remain open to constantly learning, as Tourbi says, and to being able to learn from mistakes and not feel that there is only one path to anything.
Hell, if I can have a "spirit guide", or any kind of spiritual communication, ANYONE should be able to, and it's DEFINITELY not based on "purity"!
You'll be fine. The fact that you're even concerned about it (as long as you don't let it trip you up) is a very good sign, as far as I can tell!

Purity? You can visit heaven but you always have to come back too here! You can't stay! After awhile, you begin to feel like a yo yo. Feelings and emotions often lead us astray!

I really want to grow spiritually and awaken psychic abilities (if I have any). So, I've been meditating. I've read about the information on Mediumship at Mystic Academy, but I don't know if I'm doing it right.
I don't know if I'm just imagining everything. Then, I started wondering if I have to be pure. I mean, what if I'm not pure enough to talk to spirit guides or anything? Maybe, that's why I'm not getting anywhere whenever I try to meditate and start imagining everything because my mind really wants to satisfy me and make me happy or something.
I strongly believe that our minds will hide or lie to us to protect us and to make us happy. But I don't know when it's lying to me.
I know I just recently began my search to grow spiritually, but there hasn't been any sign. So, I'm thinking that everything I've seen in my mind is because my mind is lying and that I might not be pure enough.
What should I do? |
If we all waited until some time when magicly we became pure, there would be no psychics, mediums, or even human living. We are all a 'work in progress'. This means that we are listening to all our senses on the material, the mental, the emotional, the psychic, and any other aspect of our humanness and learning from the experiences it teaches.
I think a new endeavour in life begins with ourselves. We use the tools of our own consciousness (mind) to empower and balance ourselves. It is where I began a ritual of visualization and affirmation, each and every morning to start the day positive and keep it in that mode. Gradually, over time, we find ourselves changing and balancing into a positive mode of living and learning. Our stresses are calmed in this ritual and our minds keep us at peace with all our activities.
Then when we meditate to develop psychic abilities (each and every meditation has a purpose and we set this at the start of our activity) we meditate in positive mode to glean from spirit helpers that which will help us be positive and at peace with ourselves and the whole learning process. It helps us also have patience (although, I don't know anyone that has gained this one without some impatience at its slowness!LOL) with ourselves and others in the process of learning.
Take your time. Take one step at a time. Don't rush the process. It all has to be learned and each step has something to teach before we move into the next one.
BTW there is no 'wrong' way to meditate. It is the individual's own mind that is the tool so it is what is right for that particular mind that is in the process of calming and balancing. Using exercises of peace and calm will work - give them a try and stick with it.
Reading the notes is about some hints - using them in your own way is the process.
