Back in the fall, when I was still quite new to things (still am now, but less so!) and trying to figure out why I was seeing and experiencing so many amazing things, I thought of trying to talk to a psychic.  No offense to anyone here, but at the time (until I got some readings here!) I didn't have a lot of faith in the whole notion of psychics, mediums, etc.--I was pretty much a total cynic, except for the fact that I'd been seeing spirits, symbols, "visions', and all kinds of other things for about 8 months by then--go figure (my "rational" side hadn't quite caught up to the reality of what was happening yet, I guess)!

Anyway, having never been involved in that (this?) "world" at the time, I had no idea how to decide if a psychic was at all for real, and no one to provide a "referral" or recommendation.  There is one psychic in my town; she has a shop on the main street that's been there for a LONG time.  With the rents in this town being astronomical, it must cost her a fortune (so to speak!), so I figured that (a) she must be REALLY  good, (b) she must be living off of a trust fund, or (c) she must be a complete fraud who knows how to manipulate people very well.  On a whim one day, I walked in to her shop.  Here's the strange thing:  when I looked at her, I saw a tiny blue light above her head.  I actually see the blue (as well as other colors) lights fairly often, and they're beautiful, but I'd never seen one just show up above another person like that before.

I decided that I couldn't afford a reading at that time (still can't!), but I was wondering if the blue light was trying to tell me that the psychic really is for real--not a trust fund baby with an interest in the occult!

Any thoughts?

Hi Doe
For every person there is a psychic. There is no set way to tell if they are real or fraud. I have spent 30 years checking out hundreds as a sceptic psychic. The best observation i could make was if they have knowlege of you during the reading that isnt supplied by or tricked out of you then you have a chance of a good reading. I have found that  the same psychic that your friend might have used for years and be very good and recomended to you  could suck when you get a reading from them ..Its not  always there fault. Its like tuning in a radio you can get a good reception from one person or a bad one from another.
A lot of what we do isnt something that is exactly black or white. The information comes in trickles or buckets and we have to decyper it into something relevent to someone we have just met.
Never believe any one who tells you they need to do a "special ritual or cast a special spell " that will cost you lots of money to "remove a curse from a evil family member or a whatever". I have a real problem with these scammers.
The blue light is a sign of a healer.
Cheers Pete

Hi, Pete,

Healer, huh?  I'd love to drop by and tell her what I saw--it might make her happy--but she might think I'm a whackjob, and there's no way I can afford a reading (I can barely afford a pack of gum at the moment)!

I'm with you--it pisses me off that there are those who do that kind of thing fraudulently--especially because their victims tend to be too desperate, scared, lonely, or whatever to be capable of seeing that they're being taken for a ride.

I love the "good/bad" radio reception concept.  It's something I've felt--I've compared it to being out on a desert highway in the middle of the night and trying to tune in a station on an AM radio--you just have to keep turning the dial until you stop hearing the static and start hearing music!

IF we consider that there is a psychic for everyone, is it perhaps that those having fraudulent practices played out on them, may be seeking this type of experience?  Our intent and how we approach any subject can play its part on what we receive.

I do think there are frauds and they do give the rest a bad name.  But some of us could also write a book about those that have come as clients and perpetrate and energy drain while claiming no joy.  There will always be those who seek something for nothing.

A pale blue can also mean inspiration.  This could be a very inspired person that you saw the light with and if it makes you feel comfortable, perhaps they are the person to inspire you as well.

It was a very deep, vivid blue.  Either way, it sounds as if it was a good sign.  If I ever become a trust-fund baby, I'll definitely go in for a reading (hey--I have to pay rent in this town too!   ).
