Is there any difference? Can I say everyone is psychic but not intuitive? I have the notion that psychic impressions are of a “flashes” of knowing moment but an intuitive impressions are ones that you sort of “arriving to” where you manage to crack the code (logic and reasoning).

There’s a  time when I blurted out  “I when we get back from training I will be relocated to A…” We were out on the balcony chit chatting after a meal when I suddenly had this sense “knowing” then I went through 5 years of roller coaster ride to hell.  There’s lot of   other instances I had this type of flashes I just know what will happen but some times, I didn’t believe what I felt.  Can I classify this as psychic phenomenon?

Say I am thinking of finding out the winning lottery numbers I had experiences that I don’t get flashes but usually brooding over my money problem I try to tune into numbers, I try to get inspiration, flashes within and also from my surrounding.  Well sad to say, I had some signals, twice I had first prize numbers coming to me but I didn’t believe myself enough to go buy the number. What a banging head to the wall situation that was.   Well anyway that’s my example of intuitive impressions.

I tend to think of my readings more as intuitive than psychic ones, but many people use the two terms interchangeably. In other words, they do not appear to feel there is any difference between the two terms, or at least any difference which is important enough to mention. People's opinions about this differ widely?

One of my favourite books on Psychic Development (see below) includes Psychic Intuition or Inner Knowingness as one of the four major psychic senses.

The other three psychic senses listed are....

Psychic Feeling - The body as a psychic antenna (Clairsentience)

Psychic Hearing The Voice that speaks within (Clairaudience)

Psychic Vision - The World of clairvoyance

Since it is highly unusual to use only one of these four senses at any time, I feel that any distinction between the true meanings of the two words really does not serve any useful purpose. If you want to use the two words interchangeably, then please go ahead with my blessing, as I feel that developing our natural psychic abilities in a balanced and responsible manner is quite difficult enough without also having an intellectual debate about the finer meanings behind each of the two words in turn. I am much more interested in helping people, using whatever psychic gifts I possess.

The examples you gave were excellent ones, and they are very similar to many but not all of my own. I regard myself as primarily clairaudient (psychic hearing), but I certainly would not call my readings purely clairaudient or only intuitive ones.

Oh and the book to which I am referring above is........

"You are Psychic! - An MIT-trained scientist's proven program for expanding your psychic powers" by Pete A. Sanders, Jr 1989 [Fawcett Columbine New York]

Hoping this has helped,

Thanks for the book recommendation. I have accumulated a few sources myself just lacking in effort to study it seriously.

I have recently have a lot of interest in Caroline Myss's Sacred Contracts and Archetypes and theories of the chakra. I think it is a very useful tool for me to develop more accurate intuition based impressions.

I think when you have psychic impressions, it is  a moment where it suddenly dawn to you that you just realised "SOMETHING" and this "SOMETHING" is  backed up by the awareness of the emotional and cellular level. I sort of got this sense of bewilderment and lucidity, it's like every fiber of your body understand this as well.

However when you dont understand what this means maybe you can try to find this out intuitively, maybe you will use divination, i-ching, symbology or astro prediction whatever method that will let you "see" or understand the psychic impression you got in the first place.

But how often is that one will get an accurate reading from divination? I-ching may tell you say get ready for stormy weather ahead but it doesnt predict you will lose your job in the next 12 months you will be literally lose everything.

Either way, both are hard. If I have to go through all those emotional and physiological response to know those are psychic impressions and something is up,  most of the time you dont know what is wrong....  I really can go without drama. Keyword here : involuntary reflex.

While I think intuitive way are easier, but you do have to be master a few divination tools which is hard part.

This greatly depends on whether you are measuring the value of your readings by how accurately you can predict the future, rather than as I do by how relevant it was to the person's situation, and above all how much it helps them to make positive improvements in their life now, as well as better preparing them for whatever the future holds in store for them.

I define intuition or intuitive impressions as an inner knowingness, which has not been obtained by physical or logical means. That feeling as though you know something is a fact, but you cannot for the life of you explain why. This is I believe because in the brain logical and deductive though processes are supposed to be largely confined to the left side of the brain, while our intuition and imagination is normally located in the right brain.

When we are fully awake our logical questioning mind tends to constantly get in the way of us being more fully open to psychic or intuitive impressions, but in altered states of consciousness including meditation, daydreaming and sleeping, the logical left side of the brain takes a temporary rest break which then allows our instincts more freedom.

For the purpose of my readings, I sometimes use the Tarot or numerology as focus tools to get me started, but once the intuitive messages start flowing through, these temporary crutches are no longer necessary. Sometimes however, I use no tools of divination at all. Using the different tools of divination often appears much more difficult than it really is as I believe that too many people feel that they must use them in a certain rigid or fixed manner, or not at all.

There is also the very common trap of comparing the way in which you feel comfortable using your intuition to the way that others do it, and assuming that since their method seems to work well for them, it must also equally work well for you. People then (unwisely in hindsight) discard their own methods in preference to someone else's, then discover often all too late that they do not work anywhere near as effectively as their own favourite technique, if at all.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your psychic development,

I think these definitions clear up the confusion a bit. Hope they helped you! I can see how the thin line that separates them can be easily blurred.
