I have to be quite harsh here. This is a scam. First remember that anyone can use a pic online, and it does not necessarily mean it's them. This man has been through all this but he is online!? IMing you? I really doubt that to get online would be a priority for one second. Everyday I must get way over a hundred emails from people exactly like this, all with a very very sad story, and most do have an auric energy about them. It is human nature to feel and to hone into compassion and I have no doubt that all his words evoked the prescribed response he wanted.

I also get pestered by Pm's Im's and skype messages, all sound exactly like this man!

Please do not fall into this trap, break away now, never give out any bank details or paypal details or your full name and address. It is not safe in today's world of internet fraudsters, And I have no doubt that this guy is just another.

If you want to help the suffering people in these countries then please go to a specific charity that is bonafide and not fake.

You are too good to be taken in like this, I know you want to help but not this man in this way.

I must also agree that it is a scam....

If it is a scam, that we all agre upon, would this person show a picture of himself?
Surly not.
They would find a picture that "talked" to most womans....or if you was a man, show a picture of a woman that man fancy.

Have in your mind that you never can be sure who are sitting on the other side of the screen.
You can believe you are talking to someone in your neighbourhood..but in fact it can be from  the other side of  the globe.

Daily we can read in the newspaper about similar thing, we are bombarded with email with scams....people can do everything in order to lure some money from credulous people...so do as Gem suggested....give to firms that you know are serious....be very restrictive elsewhere...if you don't see the direct need.

Some strong valid points have been made, such as if this man is in the camp he says he is in, then how did he get online, how is he still able to share so much online communication?

Something to think about is this, perhaps your loving nature is responding to the soul of a good person, the person in the picture, however the person that is in communication with you is not the person in the picture that you saw.

This could explain why you had such as strong light around the image.

In any major choices we need to make in our lives it is always best to think about it yes, on a logical mental level, then to take the time to meditate on it, that you have such strong questions and that there is an issue of conflict over this tells me that it is not the right place, that despite how good some of it seems, that there is something under the surface that you instinctively know or sense and causes you to question, wonder, about.

Let that be your guide, that you yourself have doubts, so then there must be reasons as to why you have doubts.

Look, I am myself from Africa and can tell you this: there are no refugee camps in Nigeria for white farmers who escaped from Zimbabwe's land reform  violence.

So this very fact is already false.

Nigeria is known for what we call "Yahoo boys", young men who are university educated and unemployed due to the bad economy and who end up doing fraud through the net. I know a lot about Nigeria, I lived there for some time.

Also, the conditions he is describing for the refugee camp do not fit with the access to the Internet on such a regular and unlimited basis.

Do some research on the Net about the political situation in Zimbabwe and visit sites by white farmers in Zimbabwe. Many live very well still in Zim. Another large group emograted to South Africa at some point. Other emigrated to the US or to the UK. I have never heard of any refugee camp set up for them in Nigera...!
